A man who pays for more than 1 family in tax each year, looking for ways to make them earn it or at least say thank you for it (based upon the new benefits cap)
@CallumLyon Wages are set by the value you generate - not the bills you have to pay - ยฃ1800 is the starting wage, then you add effort and qualifications and the wage rises
@omgsidewalks Wait until their parents die - and guess what - that number will jump again. Assets appreciate when held - and appreciation has been strong over the last few years due to monetary policy. Blame governments that print money
@omgsidewalks The issue is the concept of want - read Hobbes Leviathan and start to understand reality - everyone wants what is best for them at the cost of others - reality bites and we need to increase the sense of personal responsibility - you can only depend on you
@HelenWebberley How about we wait until they are old and mature enough to understand the consequence of life changing decisions? That is protecting children
@omgsidewalks Your wage is not determined by what you need to spend but by the value you generate from each hour of work. We cannot artificially increase wages without making low value work extinct - and we cannot pay welfare eternally for people who cannot generate value.
@omgsidewalks Am sure many agree - the issue I have is western governments stifling industry while India and China spew so much CO2 we might as well not exist. Greenwashing is the state of the nation as we reduce emissions while buying everything from China - tariffs are needed
@omgsidewalks Anyone has the human capital to do something different - only those that expect it without the effort fail - ultimately success costs, some are prepared to pay the price - others not so much
@omgsidewalks If you work hard and look for skills that generate value you too can โget richโ - if you sit on the till at Tesco and get angry at the world because you too are working hard, then you need to learn a lesson. Many do well, some do wonderfully, the lazy get angry
@omgsidewalks People exist, people are the market - people who only take out and donโt put in are not serving the market they are weakening it and society as a whole. Some cannot help it, some can, those that can are freeloaders and the market needs to require them to add or leave.
@BladeoftheS Socialism is taking money from people that earn it and giving it to those that donโt - worst form of theft ever - problem with socialism is you run out of other peopleโs money pretty quickly
@TomK_Brit1993 A half eaten rotten turnip would be better than Kier - this socialist muppet included - but not much better. We need rid of the socialists and a stiff broom to finally clear the civils service of the hand wringing wets - we need a new start based upon personal responsibility
@Victoria_Spratt@theipaper Your issue is that the pension is the only benefit that requires contribution for many years to qualify. What we need is to make all benefits dependent upon 5 years paying in with a 2 year limit on claims- and stop giving pensions to people who never worked.
@omgsidewalks They could also be solved by leaving those unable to support themselves to fail - neither is the solution but each would possibly work - the only issue you have is what happens when all the billionaires are gone and people are still failing to make their own ends meet? Who next?
@ZackPolanski And there I was thinking you couldnโt be any more stupid - good luck mate, if you get anywhere near power you are going to need a lot of it
@UU_Ess_Pee Maybe we need to stop letting anyone who hasnโt worked claim it - and also limit any benefits other than serious disability to 2 years until you work another 5 - and stop all in work benefits - force people to pay their own way rather than expect others to do it for them
@Bunny_ngl That sounds great - if the company makes a loss or needs additional cash flow can we also immediately lower the wage of everyone below CEO so they all wear the risk and pain? If it needs investment can we use part of their salary too?
@BladeoftheS In actual fact in the UK about 55% are consuming more in state handouts and services than they contribute - to net pay in you need to earn around ยฃ45k. Too many fail to cover their own costs while expecting others to pay more - this cannot continue
@JohnCrookes7 Witch hunts normally look for spurious information - he failed vetting which needed ministerial override to then be put in post - which minister gave this override?
