📢 Girls are not failing. Systems are failing girls.

On #InternationalDayoftheGirl, our partners, together with the girls they serve came together to call for governments and leaders to end child marriage and invest in girls’ rights. Post #IDG2026, we must stay true to this commitment by addressing the systems that restrict and stand in the way of girls’ agency.

Financial literacy is a building block for resilient families.

As part of Phase 1 of the Conditional Cash-Based Intervention (CBI), FINCA Uganda equipped caregivers in Rubaga with practical financial skills to make informed decisions, strengthen saving habits .

Building resilient organisations requires us to think beyond the work we do today and ask how we sustain it for tomorrow.

This week our team was in attendance for the Aflatoun Partners in Uganda Financial Resilience & Income Diversification Workshop which gave us an opportunity to reflect, learn and explore strategies for strengthening organisational sustainability and long term impact.

Meaningful impact must be built to last.

Girls are not failing. Systems are failing girls.

This #InternationalDayoftheGirl, as we call to end
child marriage and invest in girls’ rights, we must
also address the systems that restrict girls’
agency. When systemsprotect girls, invest in their
education and wellbeing and listen to their voices,
girls can shape their own futures.

Over a decade of doing the work we do @ipfug has reinforced one thing for me,economic agency starts long before a girl earns her first income.

It starts when she understands money, learns to save, makes her first financial decision and begins to believe in the possibilities ahead of her.

Through the Koin Dream Challenge with a lens on the #HerSafari we are nurturing more than a saving culture,we are laying the foundation for a generation of financially empowered girls who can make choices, pursue opportunities and shape their own futures.

This #DayOfTheGirl, we keep kickstarting their #RoadToSaving because the earlier we equip girls with financial knowledge, the stronger the foundation we build for their economic agency.

A decade of kickstarting young savers.
Through the#KoinDreamChallenge, we’ve spent over a decade nurturing a saving culture and building financial literacy among children because economic agency doesn’t begin when a girl starts earning ,it begins when she learns to make informed choices about money.

This #DayOfTheGirl, we remain committed to equipping girls with the skills to save, invest and shape their financial futures.

Her #RoadToSaving today. Her economic power tomorrow.

💡Economic agency starts early.

When a girl learns to manage her money, she begins building the confidence and skills to make informed financial decisions, pursue opportunities and shape her own future.

This #DayOfTheGirl, let’s kickstart her #RoadToSaving because financial literacy is more than managing money, it’s building the power to choose.

Happy International Day of the Girl! 💜

Today, we celebrate every girl’s dreams, voice and potential. Every girl deserves to learn without barriers, make choices about her future and lead with confidence.

Her voice matters. Her dreams matter. Her future matters.

🎙Yesterday, i checked in at Emin Pasha, heels on and ready to learn.

At Ecobank’s Women in Business Mentorship, i connected with fellow women entrepreneurs and reflected on resilience, risk management and positioning for growth.

Our keynote speaker Sarah Kagingo asked,How do you keep afloat? How are you positioning yourself?

Some key nuggets i took away from the mentors,
》Build a reserve.
》Enjoy solving problems.
》Lead people well.
》Opportunity meets readiness.
》Create your own path.

Thank you @EcobankUganda for convening this, totally loved it.

The #InternationalDayoftheGirl is almost here, and our partners have already begun joint advocacy activities, starting with Uganda!👏 This week, on the 6th of October, AG's Uganda network partners brought together 200 girls from 12 schools to celebrate #IDG2026.✨

During the celebration, adolescent girls held girl-led group conversations on the barriers that limit them from exercising their agency and reaching their full potential. The sessions were facilitated by @GirlUpUganda's mentors and school teachers. The girls later presented on the change they want to see at home, in school, in the community, and in leadership. The girls talked about staying in school, the need to end child marriage, and support girls' rights, choices, and aspirations.

AG partners represented were: Girl Up Uganda, @ipfug, @reachahand, and @GirlPowerFoUg. The African Women and Girls Organisation (AWAGO) also joined the celebration and facilitated a grounding meditation session for the girls.

[AMPLIFY Girls @AMPLIFY_Girls]

AG at #UNGA81: Hon. Dr. Tecla Chebet Tum's second call was about putting resources closer to girls, and closer to the organizations girls themselves are building and leading.

📢The message is clear: investment cannot stop at commitments. It has to reach the programs, spaces, and organizations that are creating the conditions for girls to shape their own futures.

Watch out for her final call to action as we gear up to celebrate the #InternationalDayoftheGirl2026.
