Gayle King’s astonishment that the holdout juror was a black man says a great deal more about her own prejudices than it does about the juror.
Clarence Thomas spoke about exactly this mindset during his confirmation hearings 35 years ago, i.e. the idea that a black man is expected to think a certain way, hold certain views, and arrive at certain conclusions. And when he doesn’t, a lot of people simply cannot compute it.
35 years later, here we are again. A black man thinks for himself, reaches his own conclusion, and the reaction is disbelief.
HOLY CRAP…..💀😭
An NYC firefighter just told pro-Palestine protesters to get the fuck out of our country and take Mamdani, AOC, Hochul, and Obama with them.
I’M SORRY, BUT THIS MAN IS AN ABSOLUTE LEGEND. 😂🔥
God bless him.
THIS is the America I know and love. 🇺🇸
Massive protests in NYC today over Mamdani showing up to Ground Zero against the families’ wishes! Then he’s caught laughing it up with AOC while victims' names are read.
Unbelievable disgrace. He shouldn’t have come!
There are many of you who will never know what we lost.
It was the many people who senselessly died that day, and more.
All these videos show you a collection of Americans who were dedicated to this country: firemen and others bravely running into the burning buildings to try to save people; politicians who were genuinely appalled, horrified, and righteously indignant at the event; average citizens helping one another, crying with one another. People who were bonded together by loss, compassion, and American determination.
Many of you never knew our country back then.
What I mourn most today is the loss of that American Spirit and the commitment to this country that connected us all.
I hope we can reclaim it soon.
Pat Tillman walked away from an NFL career and millions of dollars after 9/11 to fight for his country.
He gave his life in Afghanistan.
You can argue about the war. You can’t argue with the sacrifice. He left it all behind to defend his country.
That’s a hero. 🇺🇸
I reread this every year.
I cry like a baby every year.
Todd Beamer died a father, husband, and hero.
Todd: Hello… Operator… listen to me. I can’t speak very loud. This is an emergency. I’m a passenger on a United flight to San Francisco. Our plane has been hijacked.
Lisa: I understand. Can they see you?
Todd: No. There are three that we know of. They have knives — razor knives, like box cutters. Someone announced from the cockpit there was a bomb. It sounded fake.
Lisa: Your name?Todd: Todd Beamer. United Flight 93.Todd: They killed one passenger in first class. They forced most of us back. Fourteen of us here. Five flight attendants. The guy with the bomb ordered us to sit on the floor.
Lisa: Are you okay?
Todd: We’re going down… wait. No. We’re leveling off. We changed directions. We’re flying east again.
Todd: A guy named Jeremy called his wife. She told him two planes hit the World Trade Center. Lisa, is that true?
Lisa: I have to tell you the truth. It’s very bad. Both towers are gone. A third plane hit the Pentagon. Our country is under attack. I’m afraid your plane may be part of their plan.
Todd: Oh God. Lisa, will you do something for me? Call my wife and my kids. Promise me you’ll call.
Lisa: I promise.
Todd: Our home number is… You have the same name as my wife. Lisa. We’ve been married ten years. She’s pregnant with our third child. Tell her I love her. I’ll always love her. We have two boys — David, he’s 3, and Andrew, he’s 1. Tell them their daddy loves them and he is so proud of them. The baby is due January 12th. I saw an ultrasound. We still don’t know if it’s a girl or a boy.
Lisa: I’ll tell them. I promise, Todd.(Lisa patches in the FBI.)
Agent: Todd, your plane is on a course for Washington. Best guess is the White House or the Capitol.
Todd: I understand. I’ll be back.
Todd: Everyone knows this isn’t a normal hijacking. We have decided we will not be pawns in their plot.
Lisa: What are you going to do?
Todd: Four of us are going to rush the one with the bomb. Then the cockpit. A stewardess is getting boiling water. We’ll take them out.
Todd: Would you pray with me?They pray the Lord’s Prayer. Then: Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for thou art with me.
Todd: God help me. Jesus help me.Are you guys ready? Let’s Roll.
I lost my Dad on 9/11. I don’t get a lot of reach on here. But I just wanted to share a picture. He was 39. I thought he was old. I’m now in my mid 30s and I still feel like a kid.
He was a great trader. He loved markets. He loved to find a stock no one was talking about.
The first trade I ever placed was on his work computer, where he let me click the button to buy AMAT. I loved going to the office with him. It was electric.
He was the best dad. We spent hours out in the street after dinner where he’d throw “pop flys” for me to catch. Eye on the ball.
He loved watching Sponge Bob and eating cereal, wrestling with us in the living room. He just loved being around his kids so much, and we knew it. I’m so grateful I got a dad like that.
Love you, Pops.
The holdout juror has been revealed! Not only is he black (on an all white jury) but he may have also been GAY?! Yikes, the Clancies must be losing it.
Trump pardon, then Patrick conspiracies getting dismissed, now THIS?! 😆
Remember when Sammy Sosa was running with the flag after 9-11, Still gives me Chills, the Spirit and the love that came from something so Tragic on 9-11.
Brian David Sweeney, 39, a passenger on Flight 175, left a voicemail for his wife Julie four minutes before the plane crashed into the World Trade Center's South Tower.
"Jules, this is Brian. Listen, I'm on an airplane that's been hijacked. If things don't go well, and it's not looking good, I just want you to know I absolutely love you," he said.
"I want you to do good, go have good times. Same to my parents and everybody and I just totally love you and I'll see you when you get there."
Zohran Mamdani and AOC Caught LAUGHING on Camera While The Names of 9/11 Victims Are Read
3,000 Americans died that day and they’re smiling and joking.
They don’t even pretend to care anymore.
What a disgrace.
3,000 people may have died on 9/11, but that’s not the actual death toll. Nearly 10,000 died from 9/11, as the heroic rescuers continue to die from cancers they’ve endured as a direct result of the wreckage from the muslim terror attack 25 years ago. 9/11 hasn’t forgot about us.
25 years ago today, former Boston College lacrosse player Welles Crowther was a 24-year-old rookie equities trader in the South Tower of the World Trade Center.
"The Man In The Red Bandana" used his trademark bandana to cover his face against the smoke and saved the lives of 18 people on September 11th.
A true American hero. 🇺🇸
Today, among thousands of people crossing the Mackinac Bridge, I watched two firefighters in full gear running that bridge carrying flags.✨🇺🇸✨
And something about it hit me differently.
Carrying the weight of their gear, carrying those flags and carrying something much bigger than either.
A reminder, there are people who willingly carry heavy things so the rest of us don't have to.
It honestly did something to my heart.
We get so caught up in arguing,
complaining, judging, and worrying about things that won't matter someday.
Todd Beamer was the passenger on United Airlines Flight 93 who rallied fellow passengers to fight back against the 9/11 hijackers with the phrase "Let's roll" and stopped it from reaching Washington, DC.
This is his daughter, Morgan, who was born 4 months after his death and went on to play women's soccer at his alma mater, Wheaton College.
Imagine how proud he would be. 🇺🇸 #neverforget
Remembering Jeremy Glick.
He was 31, a judo champion, a rugby captain, a new father.
He married his high-school sweetheart, Lyz.
Their daughter, Emerson, was twelve weeks old.
He was supposed to fly the day before.
On September 11, 2001, he boarded United Flight 93 in Newark.
After the hijacking he called Lyz.
He asked if it was true that planes had been flown into the World Trade Center.
She told him it was.
He understood then what the plane was being used for.
He told her the passengers were voting on whether to rush the cockpit.
He joked about butter knives.
She told him he needed to do it.
He said he loved her.
He told her not to be sad.
He told her to take care of their daughter, and that he would be all right with whatever choices she made.
Then he said they were going to rush the hijackers.
Stay on the line, he said.
I’ll be back.
He did not come back.
The plane went down in a Pennsylvania field. The Capitol was never hit.
He was a take-charge guy, his family said. In the last minutes of his life he made sure his wife knew he loved them, and then he went forward.
Say his name today.
