October 1960: The controversy stemmed from the fact that Chief Festus Okotie-Eboh was not originally meant to dance with the Princess.
He went against Balewa’s orders.

There’s a story that broke that era.
It was 29 year old Maitama Sule that was supposed to have danced with her until Festus Okotie Eboh shoved him aside:
The well-known episode during the Independence State Ball at Federal Palace Hotel centered on Finance Minister Chief Festus Okotie-Eboh dancing with Princess Alexandra of Kent, who stood in for the British monarchy at the 1960 independence festivities.
Prime Minister Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa had personally picked the youthful, magnetic Mines and Power Minister, Maitama Sule, to replace him for the official waltz.
What emerged then focused on the clash and final disregard of that order:
Photo 2: Maitama Sule was 29 back then and had apparently already started practicing for the royal dance.
The Disruption: Chief Festus Okotie-Eboh, a higher-ranking and extremely rich and powerful cabinet member, firmly rejected the Prime Minister’s pick.
He saw it as improper and insulting for a junior minister to carry out the ceremonial task with the British royal.
The Seizure: Asserting his political weight, he grabbed the slot and went onto the dance floor with Princess Alexandra himself.
The scene was famously shot by French photographer Marc Riboud and remains one of the most celebrated and endlessly debated images from Nigeria’s early post-independence era.
Now You know.
Apparently, before the end of this war between Iran on the one hand and Israel and US on the other, one would have learned to speak and write perfectly in Arabic and Hebrew.
@Femzydr1 I have a very close friend who experienced this, but in his own case the wife took him to the new house herself to surprise him. Till today, he's still in shock, but in a good way. There really shouldn't be any problem here if your wife is the type that loves surprises.
This is the part of Arteta's game I hate the most - not knowing how to win games that decide the season. Imagine playing 1 pattern from the beginning of a match to the end. No versatility. When Liverpool was in this position last season, they took advantage of all our slip ups.
@BenHundeyin@SirLeoBDasilva I think the police, working in unison with NURTW and other associations, can curb this issue of one chance operators. Most of these NURTW guys either know these "one chance" operators or are very familiar with their methods. Even if it means rewarding whistle blowers.
You are not invincible. It's just a matter of time before everything starts crashing down. Don't ever discount the stupidity of allies nor their betrayals. I have gone full cycle on this. You hardly recover from betrayals of friends.
@fimiletoks 😂😂😂😂.. Who come cause the remaining 8? God has reserved a special place for those ones in his kingdom. Everywhere you go, the story is always the same - the most consistent story ever told!
@Benking443 Don't know why a lot of you guys continue to pretend about some of these glaring outcomes. Someone that had the nerve to contest even after 8 years of Buhari- a northerner -is who you are expecting to not contest again after 4 years of Tinubu - a southerner.
Same person...
These are the people shaping political opinions for you.
No wonder everybody was kikiing when they called him Igbo labubu...and I was even pained on his behalf.
@fimiletoks I was surprised to see that most filling stations around my area are now using big electronic boards to display their prices so that customers can see them from a mile away. The competition is shaping up and it is becoming stiff. This gives room for innovation.
