Full transparency: the open call is open to all applicants, and guarantees for a job offer. I am offering to co-develop an application that addresses disruption in science, with plenty of room for personalising it. Granted applications are fully funded 3-year projects.
What is disruption in science? I am looking for a prospective PhD student to study disruption theoretically, qualitatively and quantitatively at Aarhus University. If interested in developing your own project under our open call, in collaboration with me, please get in touch.
We also show that there is a correlation between the concentration of funding on the best funded researchers and the imbalance in funding on diseases. However, we don’t have data to show which direction the causality arrow points - likely it is bidirectional.
Do we fund the research that society needs?
We have a new paper out (with @EmilBargmann), studying disease burden data connected to research funding and activity in Denmark.
https://t.co/8bFd9vhCi1
Our paper presents a novel method for connecting these data points, which allows us to quantify the funding and research on specific diseases, and how large a share of the national disease burden they comprise.
Our comprehensive study on questionable research practices (QRP) is finally published @M_B_Petersen, @MejlgaardNiels, @ipoga, @EmilBargmann, N. Allum, B. Zachariae (PRINT project)

Time for this semiannual service announcement 😀Want to write a PhD in the broad area of “research on research”? We (@cfa_res_pol) have a fully funded opportunity: https://t.co/rzLICwFX1a
Hi @Microsoft@Windows, I really like your new standard font for @Office, Aptos! It’s versatile, neat, but why is it not (officially) possible to change the system font face anymore? This used to be pretty standard “back in the days”! Will Aptos become system font at some point?

@kbkarlson @schneider_jw @mathiaswullum Scopus is more like WoS, conceptually, but yes, they include more (especially European) sources. There’s a pretty big overlap between WoS and Scopus in most fields, but both also have “unique” content.
@kbkarlson @schneider_jw @mathiaswullum It’s differences in coverage. WoS is a selective database, where journals are vetted. GS much less so. Social science is underrepresented in WoS, so GS can be closer to “truth” here, but still some noise from gray litt., non-peer review, preprints etc.
