It's not true that I extended my support (to CJP, students' protest) only yesterday. I have been with Abhijit (Dipke) and Sonam ji from the very beginning. In fact, Sonam ji had visited my home, and the Shiv Sena has stood with these young people since day one. I came yesterday to meet everyone. Coincidentally or perhaps for some other reason Rahul (Gandhi) ji also joined the protest yesterday. If we look at the way the government is treating them, with such brutality, it is certainly not a hallmark of democracy. In fact, many people have started saying that even the British were better than this. The fact that people are making such remarks reflects the growing public sentiment. It seems that those in power today have become arrogant, but it doesn't take long for the people to bring those in power back down to earth."

I don't think any student would carry Aurangzeb's poster while protesting, irrespective of their demands. We are inquiring into the matter, and whoever is responsible will be punished. I cannot say what the reason was, but I think some people in the opposition may be trying to politicise the movement. Opposition leaders are currently unable to attract the youth, so they may see this as a ready platform. A thorough investigation will definitely be conducted into the matter."
