I won't pretend I'm THAT old but a lot of you don't know people used to not use NAT and they would just buy a /24 public block for an office space and it really shows. IPv6 allows us to get back to this practice because NAT was always just a stop gap, read your history kids
I'm back, my enthusiasm for this website does wane but we must march on. I have no cool pictures for you but I did install docker on an Arista so I expect to be brought up on charges at the international criminal court shortly
@noIPv6 If @noIPv6 doesn’t come back it will be ipv4 forever. https://t.co/sfFgBpR91d
Taking some time out myself in April , maybe @ipv6cabal@IPv6Mafia progressives can support me in my mission . Yes , the trike is @ipv6 enabled. https://t.co/ZLakZz7s52 .I need that @Starlink upgrade
Congratulations, your IPv6 migration plan just got a business case, AWS is now charging for v4 addresses. v6 is free, and the sky has finally fallen: https://t.co/4ny3GNDavL
Been awhile... These pics of the week are from 2018 when I was tasked with testing a solar power system for temporary outdoor wireless use at Sonoma Raceway. I used a pair of Ubiquiti NanoBeams and a pair of Ruckus 7782's we had lyin' around to provide a little free wireless.
Only 10 minutes until 5PM on a friday and you know what that means:
It's a great time to add a VLAN to the existing ones
conf t
switch (config)# int te1/0/1
switch (config)# switchport allowed vlan 777
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!..................................................................
Pic of the week this time is from April 2017. I found this SnapGear firewall in a box at a client in Sausalito. EOS was 10-2009 and EOL was 7-2013. A TRUE CLASSIC and definitely more unique than the absurd number of ASA 5505's I would find sitting around.
Since I've been gone for so long here's a late night pic of the week taken yesterday five years go. This was me doing a ridiculous set of uplinks for a Sonicwall HA pair at Sonoma Raceway (For their guest network) and then of course I used a crossover cable as the HA link.......
