@AliceTalksFooty These sorts of posts are hilarious. As a rule of thumb, 2x the total spend and take a 0 off the total income, and you’ll be closer to reality
And it’s interesting you’ve included wages coming off the books but not wages going onto the books. Are the new players not getting paid?
@MinaFootball It’s a crowded field
Alexis Sanchez broke the wage structure and United are, still to this day, worse off because of it
Jadon Sancho was given £350k a week as a 21 year old at the time, and had a massive transfer fee. United are currently paying for him to play for another club
@aaroncikaya Antony still has a book value of £43m. You sell him for any less than that (well actually any less than £32.5m with wages included), then it goes down as a PSR loss. United’s already treading a very fine line with PSR as it is. We literally can’t afford to sell players 😂
@fcsp_d @SibsMUFC Yeah exactly. These fans online are so confusing. They say they want a rebuild. They keep bringing up Rangnick’s open heart surgery quote. But they don’t have the patience for the rebuild to actually happen.
@paulenglish1961 He hasn’t signed anyone and is sticking with his principles. If you want to see the last time Ten Hag did that, take a look at his first 2 games as United manager and make that comparison.
@ronaldobrown_98 I just went down a rabbit hole looking at United’s wages. Found that giving Rashford away for FREE almost covers the entire PSR cost of Leny Yoro (Wages + Transfer Fee). The entire system massively incentivises selling academy players, it’s ridiculous. (All numbers from capology)
@AmorimEra_ Basically, if we sold Garnacho for £50m, it wouldn’t cover the PSR cost for Casemiro and Antony 😂 2 extreme examples but yeah. Point being, yeah selling an academy player gives you a lot of PSR headroom but not as much as you think when you include wages.
@AmorimEra_ You need to account for wages. Im bored so:
Garnacho is on £50k a week. A £50m transfer fee gives us £52.6m/yr PSR head room.
Casemiro (£60m fee, £350k a week, 4 yr contract) cost £33.2m/yr under PSR
Antony (£86m fee, £200k a week, 5 yr contract) cost £27.6m under PSR
