@William45154173@orenbarsky Obviously UI is a much bigger endeavour not just socially or culturally. I do think it is an inevitability though, enshrined in the GFA. It's a question of if they want to live with an adjustment period, a united Ireland would have a rough few years but it will recover.
@William45154173@orenbarsky Zero doubt many knew about him from Belfast beyond. Just as many would have know about Yitzhak Hzerzog but again there is a lack of collective support within Unionism for Israel until the last 25 years. To me that would indicate a reaction to nationalism rather than solidarity
@William45154173@orenbarsky Completely unaware, that's interesting, genuinely. One person doesn't demonstrate widespread support from the Unionist community. It's one person who happened to be a Unionist, Britain wasn't fascist because Mosley was British.
@William45154173@orenbarsky There is no evidence pre-2000 for the solidarity. I can decide today to follow the ways of the Jedi. I have never up to this point watched a single Star Wars film. It's a tag on to stand in opposition to Nationalists and Palestine. Antagonising the "other side"
@William45154173@orenbarsky So what you're saying is you have no evidence. Fact based evidence that can be properly scrutinised. That's ok it's just sectarianism then. The MO of Unionists. Also you are referencing a highly unreliable source there to make your shakey point.
@Nigel_Farage This is called 'Reaping what you have sown' if you want to bomb & destabilise these countries, people have to go somewhere. You don't get to steal peoples' resources then complain when they come to you asking for a better life.
@William45154173@orenbarsky Shared experience maybe but the wholesale support of Israel was never seen before about 2000? Any evidence for "solidarity" before that year? I'm assuming you would also support how Israel was founded? Including insurgent bombing campaigns & attacking British Army in the region?
@William45154173@orenbarsky The reason flags are flown is factionalism. Nationalists have had a long standing support for Palestine going back decades, Unionists put up Israeli flags because that's the counter to Palestine not because they gave half a hairy shit about what's going on in the middle east.
@HappyWolvesGirl@BladeoftheS The attacker is clearly incapacitated because of the taser. Kicking someone in the head at that point is low even for the Police. Imagine he now claims he can't remember doing anything because of head trauma and gets off with diminished responsibility or some BS
@MikeBales When my time's at an ending and my days are no more, bury me with my hurley by the river Dissour.
Hits different when you know where it comes from
@emilyhewertson Let's talk about how Palestinian Muslims on al-khidr which is today during the Muslim control of Jerusalem in the middle ages. They protected Christian pilgrims visiting the monastery where his remains apparently rest. Think about that as British weapons fired by IDF flatten Gaza
@MarkWilson1980@arleneseesit It's pro Irish not Anti-British. "I am so confident in my Irishness that I have no desire to chip away at the Britishness of my neighbours"
@JayMackComedian@PoliticsJOE_UK Agh the manosphere in full flight here, an eloquent intelligent woman making an entirely rational statement. Let's reduce her to a misogynistic trope. Bernard Manning would be proud of your "Comedy"
@Willy_Of_Ockham@KevinPosobiec Grandstanding to his electorate in America nothing more. Hollow words from the leader of a soulless country. Hailed as the Irish Catholic president and was not even close to Irish, was as Catholic only when it suited.
@JamieBrysonLLB Difference is you can emulate your hero Carson & pick up a hurl, for East Belfast [I'm sure you would be welcome] anyone can join the GAA. Not everyone can join a Lodge.
