This year I’m rooting for myself genuine joy in the midst of all the chaos, God’s unending peace when I can’t seem to find solutions to all the problems and mindfulness that leads to a productive life.
A phrase I’m learning to use more these days is “God let your will be done” because this “I can do it myself” is not working and it’s making me look too Big for God to help.
One of my favourite quotes from Bishop Mike Okonkwo is this:
“What the word of God cannot give you
1. You don’t need it
2. It doesn’t exist”
If it’s not God i don’t need it! Period!!
You see this a man should not cook or clean house has to stop! He lives in the house and should do it. Even this woman should not pay rent shouldn’t happen. She should do it!
Our roles in the family are not straight line. They are interdependent on each other. I help & you help
“Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”
God’s instructions go be like say e dey whine you 😩.
I mean how do you explain 1kings 17 to me. How can you tell me to go to the rock and drink water and then Ravens will bring food for me! God if na play stop am.
I like Elijah, he went.
I say food no fit reach me and my son you say make I make for you first.
But then she obeyed!
And the Bible tells us that she never lacked anything for the rest of her life
1Sam 13:8-14; God had given Saul an instruction to wait till Samuel came, however, he grew weary because the people were leaving & the enemy was pressing forward to attack. He decided to take laws into his own hands, thereby disobeying God.
This I have struggled with over the years, but thank God for his mercies and second chances; I have purposed to obey irrespective of what it would cost me.
