Needless to say, pretty unfortunate that the governor feels the urge to spend his precious time defaming the state's most widely read newspaper. No matter how many times he says so, there's nothing fake about our work. #akleg
Thanks for reading our coverage, governor! Proud of the reporting we are doing at @adndotcom about this legislation and thankful to our readers who look to the ADN for fair journalism. Just like the governor say: read the bill (then judge our reporting for yourself).
Another example of fake news from Anchorage Daily News. Alaskans, please read the bill and don't rely solely on the media. Here is the full text: https://t.co/SSLy5UroBd
The measure would prohibit teaching sexual education before 4th grade, require parents to sign off when a child asks to change their name or pronouns and require children to use locker rooms and restrooms according to their “biological sex.”

If you haven't read it yet, @iris_samuels has a really important article today in @adndotcom that's been on my mind quite a bit, and a line in the state's supplemental budget (see pic) indicates the problem could grow worse. #akleg https://t.co/yEhTXYUbkJ
A tale of two protests outside the Alaska Capitol: First, the annual anti-abortion protest. Then, a rollicking education funding rally. Many Republicans at the former, many Democrats at the latter. #akleg
A new group has formed to gather signatures in an effort to overturn ranked choice voting and open primaries. Former Gov. Sarah Palin was the first to sign the petition. https://t.co/jZfv4qP7Jq
I apparently drink much less coffee than my colleagues. Can I still speak coherently about Alaska's election results on minimal sleep? Judge for yourselves:
Are you an Alaska voter who ranked Peltola, Murkowski and Dunleavy first? Do you know voters who cast their ballots this way? Tell me about it! DMs open. Reach me at [email protected]
Still many ballots left to be counted and tabulated, but in Alaska's statewide races, all three incumbents are in strong positions. That's Democrat U.S. Rep. Mary Peltola, moderate Republican U.S. Sen. Lisa Murkowski, and Trump-endorsed Republican Gov. Mike Dunleavy. #akleg
The fact that such politically different candidates appear to be doing well in their respective races is fascinating. It could say something about the advantages of incumbency, or the way Alaska's new RCV voting system works. But I want to hear from voters.
I approached Gov. Mike Dunleavy after he spoke at the Anchorage Baptist Temple and asked for a quick interview. He said “sure.” But then his staffer Andrew Jensen essentially got between me and the governor and led him away. https://t.co/jAnEFdHxZN
Hey Alaska! Voting is the cool thing to do today! Drop your absentee ballot in the mail if you haven’t already or head to an early voting location. All the info you need at https://t.co/MxWA8pMoND
