Just over an hr. after I arrived into Dublin last Wednesday from Socotra,I was on the road to Lisburn, & amazingly struck lucky with the Oriental Turtle Dove with only 1.5hrs. of waiting needed. News of the bird had broken late on the evening b4 I departed for the Socotra trip.

Thankfully today's Rough-legged Buzzard was gloriously showy, appearing again at Kinramer, then at Kebble, before travelling over to Ballyconagan by the evening. The first record on Rathlin since the one enjoyed by @peediepuss and others in 1988!
OMG Harlequin duck x2 at Magheroarty Harbour! First for Ireland ? With Aaron Long and Robert Vaughan. Sitting tucked right into shore of harbour as we disembarked from Tory Ferry.
What an absolutely mental day birding in Tory, Co Donegal. 3 megas. Grey cheeked thrush followed by a self found red eyed vireo (3 total birds on the island). Then on arriving back in Magharority 2 Harlequin ducks! Absolute madness!
After seeing Song Sparrows every day in America over the last few weeks, today I made it onto Tory Island to see one in Ireland ✅ I would estimate about 50 borders have made it over between yesterday and today.
Farmers and landowners in Cork, Waterford, and Wexford are joining forces to protect our farmland birds.

After yesterday's fall of Hoopoes on the south coast, @daniel_weldon and I decided to do Brownstown Head this morning. Within a couple of hours, we had stumbled across 2 Bluethroats!! Also caught up with one of the Hoopoes later in the day. Memorable! @BrownstownBirds@watbirds
