The 5 reasons soccer won't increase in popularity after the world cup is over.

1. The flopping. This goes against the soul of every American. We value grit, toughness and basically not being a pussy.
2. The clock. No one wants to get to the end of a game and have no clue when it's over. Just stop & start the clock when you need to, like sane people.
3. Offsides. Just put a line out there like everyone else. This floating line you have makes the game unwatchable. It's like a built in, anti-excitement glitch you manufactured for your game.
4. Red cards. What a stupid rule that you automatically get kicked out for the next game for getting one. I can understand suspending someone after a league review of something you did that was horrible. But to automatically get suspended because of what a ref saw at full speed is stupid.
5. Ties. In America we call it kissing your sister, cause that's the same feeling you get after a tie. Pure disgust. In soccer, it seems like the result you prefer most. Play til you have a winner.

I’m a female Uber driver.
At night, I use the “women riders only” filter.
Most women understand immediately.
Some even thank me.
Last weekend, I pulled up to a pickup around 11:30 p.m.
A woman waved from the curb.
But she wasn’t getting in.
Two men were.
One opened the back door and said,
“She ordered it for us.”
I kept the doors locked.
Uber allows me to cancel rides like this with no penalty.
Still, they looked confused.
One of them asked,
“Is there a problem?”
I said,
“Sorry. I don’t take male passengers after dark.”
They stared at me like I’d insulted them.
So I gave them the only explanation that mattered.
“62 million.”
One of them frowned.
The other nodded immediately.
He closed the door and said to his friend,
“Honestly… that’s fair.”
Then they stepped back.
I canceled the ride and drove away.
For some people, it sounded harsh.
For me, it was simple.
Every woman has a number in her head.
A statistic.
A story.
A reason.
And every safety rule exists because someone learned the hard way not to ignore it.

This woman was leaving the airport, ordered food delivery and was being taken home by a Lyft driver. Once she got home, there was a knock on the door, usually the delivery driver leaves the food and leaves.

This time they kept knocking for about 10 minutes. The man just sits on her porch for almost an hour. She calls a friend to come over, the driver then leaves the driveway but parks a few houses down.

She ends up calling the police and it turned out that the man intercepted the food delivery, that’s why it showed that her food was delivered when she never got it. He was going to impersonate the delivery driver to get her to open the door. She has no idea how they knew she was alone, is it possible the Lyft driver notified an accomplice and told them he dropped off a woman alone and that’s why they came?

Waking up this morning and I am sad and angry.

9 people were injured early this morning in a shooting on Kirkwood in Bloomington during Little 500 weekend.

Bloomington Police say they were stationed in the area due to it being Little 5 weekend when they heard multiple gunshots and the crowd started running.

If you don’t know Little 500 weekend, it’s a bike race, but it’s also the biggest party weekend of the year. Kirkwood was filled with thousands of students and people visiting.

Police say they immediately found multiple wounded people.

At this point, we still don’t know how many were hit directly with bullets, bullet fragments or if anyone was injured during the chaos after.

Ambulances took the injured, a Bloomington Police officer took someone in their own squad car, and two were driven by personal
vehicles for treatment of injuries.

Police have no suspects and nobody in custody.

I was on Kirkwood with with my daughter and her friends on Friday afternoon. We literally played Yahtzee in Kilroy’s. I was gone before before 6PM.

My son went to visit his sister, an IU student, Saturday during the day and I knew there would be a shooting, and I told him “I don’t want you shot” so he came home before 6PM.

I am praying for the 9 injured and their families. We don’t want to live this way. We shouldn’t have to tell our kids you can’t be somewhere because you might be shot.

Please don’t remain silent.

Lastnight I was out with a friend of mine who had too much to drink!! As I was helping her walk back to my car a young lady stopped us and asked me if I needed help.. She then politely asked me what was my relationship to her…I told her she was my long time friend and that she had too much to drink so i was helping her get home!! She then proceeded to ask me if I had any pictures of us in my phone...
