3D printed copper-nickel dog-bones for tensile strength testing. This is our first copper-nickel print that looks defect free. Our previous copper-nickel print had bubbles because of the high oxygen content in the copper. But for this print we have used "oxygen-free" copper.
Also, the brass looked shiny right out of the crucible - without any sandblasting. No mill scale whatsoever. Compare it to the copper-iron rooks on the sides. (Even though the copper-iron was sandblasted, and the brass was not.)
Today we have tried printing with copper powder and brass infill. Surprisingly, this the copper powder, which was gas atomized, flows almost like water. It can flow easily through 0.4 mm hole. We need to make a new pourer for it, to take the full advantage of this property.
It looks like a good applications for iro3d printer is to make molds
(for plastic injection molding) with conformal cooling channels.

Usually those molds cost a lot of money. We can print them for a small fraction of the cost.
Just a heads up: On June 1st, 2019, the price for the standard size of iro3d printer will go up to $6000. Order before that day to take advantage of the old low price.
This video shows the new version of iro3d metal printer. It has the same build volume, but weighs much less. So, it's easier to ship. Also, this design can be scaled up, to print huge objects, something like an engine block or a vault door.

Today, one of our customers have measured Ultimate Tensile Strength of a bar, which he has printed on iro3d printer. He have got 445MPa, which, I think, is pretty good for copper-iron.
