GAME has entered administration... again.

This marks the third time in the last decade that the retailer has found itself in administration. At this point, you have to wonder how many more times it can happen before the GAME name disappears for good.

It's difficult not to point to how the brand has been handled under Frasers Group. Moving GAME from dedicated stores into small concessions inside Sports Direct stripped away much of what made it iconic. What was once a destination for gamers gradually became little more than a corner in a sports shop, leaving the brand as a shadow of its former self.

It's genuinely sad to see. For many of us, GAME was where we queued for midnight launches, picked up pre-orders and spent hours browsing the shelves for our next adventure. Whatever your thoughts on the future of physical gaming, potentially losing another piece of the UK's gaming high street history is something no gamer should celebrate.
