@kangminlee It's not "fake" even if it is a performance. We can use performances to highlight what feels meaningful to us, and to get excited about it. It's not something I ever needed to feel elation about my faith in Christ. But if others feel elevated by it, good for them.

@kangminlee I used to scoff at this sort of thing as well. It does look performative, and even though I am deeply Christian, it always made me feel weird when I chanced to see it.

That said, there is real value in doing "performative" things in order to align your body with you mind.

@KatAbughazaleh An economy works something like a cars engine. It requires fuel (resources) oxygen (labor) and spark (ideas).

But it also needs to be timed properly and at the correct pressure.
If you add too much at once, you can destroy the entire engine very quickly.

When I came back the next day I gave all the teachers and staff notes saying how embarrassed I was for them that they jumped to conclusions/ judged on appearances etc.

Alex Jones is a performance artist who uses shock value to draw peoples attention to serious subjects that need consideration.
Even when he isn't entirely correct, he is often close enough to the mark to point out some deeper and more diffuse problem
