@LoewyLawFirm@chris_kratovil This only makes sense to aggrieved Mavs fans & people who like conspiracy theories. Mavs are still going to be good this year and next, could make a move or two by next year and challenge for the 2025-26 title. Better take is Mavs GM made a bad long term move for short term gain.
@NBAW0RLD24 Stop it. Mavs didn’t “give” Luka a bad supporting cast early on. When a team is drafting in the lottery like they were, your roster is already bad. They gave him better rosters as his career went on. Mavs did mess up on Brunson though.
@Swipa_1k@JandersonSacBee@sacbee_news You build around star players like Fox, not secondary guys & role players like the ones you listed. That’s a low ceiling team and what top tier free agent is going to sign in Sac to play with that? Sac’s next star will only come via lottery, so might as well go full rebuild.
@FacelessGambler@NBA_NewYork 5 years, $345 mil was Luka’s next contract. He wasn’t turning it down. Mavs gave up 25 yr old Top 5 offensive player in history for a fragile 30+ AD, a role player, and 1 pick when they could’ve got much more. To avoid an option year? Because Luka has poor conditioning? Bad trade
@FacelessGambler@NBA_NewYork I like AD and what he can bring to a title run but the Mavs’ logic is still faulty. If you make the Finals with Luka it’s a sign that adding one/a few defensive pieces could get you over the top. But they just traded the centerpiece of that. Long term it’s bad
@FadzanDamir@DrewHanlen They are not the same, TWolves traded KAT because of salary cap limitations and not because they wanted to unload him. Dallas for some reason wanting to move Luka is the only story hear.
@INBBallSource@JeffRabjohns Luka trade helps their future chances. They get a 25 year old superstar for maybe 10+ years. Not winning the title this year is what Lakers expected anyway, but it’s not like that’s impossible either since Luka just took a team to the Finals last year.
@PropBomb@docKev_ Absolutely. Knicks Picked up KAT and Bridges and look like a Finals contender. They won their offseason. You can’t have all the picks AND be loaded up with vets for a title run, you have to choose.
@Space_Ache_@Mistacoo @RealTristan13 Luka has poor conditioning but still took Dallas to the Finals last year. Short term Dallas has better chances to win now but long term LA wins this trade.
