The BC Conservatives attack on workers across BC has failed.
Bill M233 has been defeated in the BC legislature.
This bill would have eliminated agreements that protect good-paying, local BC jobs.
The next time you go to vote, remember the people who supported this bill.
Today we celebrate workers around the world.
Local 97 recognizes the contributions of every member of the working class and of course that includes the highly skilled members of our union.
Keep up the good work, because nothing gets done without workers!
Another week, another outstanding group of high school students learning about Ironworking, care of Local 97.
This week we visited Lake Cowichan Secondary School. The trade sample class was hungry to learn! Thanks to teacher David Fischer for organizing the visit.
The Ironworkers Local 97 Training Department was on the road this week in Victoria leading two Fall Protection training courses.
Thanks to the Local 97 members who came out to sharpen their skills and ensure the safety of themselves and their fellow members on the worksite.
The Province of B.C. has recognized April as Construction and Skilled Trades Month.
We are incredibly proud of our Ironworkers Local 97 members and it is a pleasure to see them given the recognition they deserve for building this province!
Happy Friday. Ironworkers Local 97 members accomplished big things this week. Just like always.
The most important thing is that we did it safely and to the high standard of excellence we're known for.

We had a great time working with our 10-week Ironworker Generalist group. The program is designed for folks who have previous ironworking experience and want to get serious about an Ironworking career.
Here they are in our new classroom facility at our union hall in Maple Ridge!
