Overnight, Russians sent missiles and drones onto the civilian population of Ukraine's capital city, targeting residential buildings and shopping areas.

The attack lasted for almost 5 hours, and its consequences were recorded in virtually all districts of the city – at more than 40 locations.

As of the morning, there are at least 21 victims, including a 15-year-old boy. One person was killed. Three injured people are in a critical condition.

Residential buildings, dormitories, schools, an office center, warehouses, auto repair shops, and garages were hit. Fires broke out in many districts.

▪️Shevchenkivskyi District — damaged residential buildings and an office center, schools and a gas pipe between buildings were on fire.

▪️Svyatoshynskyi District — missile fragments fell on a private house.
▪️Podilskyi District — fragments fell on non-residential buildings.
▪️Golosiyivskyi District — fragments fell on the roof of a 24-story building.

Morning in Ukraine’s Sloviansk began with a Russian 1.5-TON BOMB hitting a civilian area.

A historic landmark and an administrative building were destroyed, along with over 40 homes. The number of victims is still unclear.

President Volodymyr Zelensky thanked international partners for supporting Ukraine during his address on Feb. 24, marking the anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion.

Response and recovery efforts are ongoing following Russia’s overnight attack. Nearly 300 attack drones, most of them “shaheds,” and 50 missiles of various types, a significant share of them ballistic, were launched against Ukraine. The strikes targeted Kyiv and the region, the Dnipro, Kirovohrad, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Poltava, and Sumy regions. Tragically, one person was killed in the Fastiv district. My condolences to the family and loved ones. Eight people were injured, including one child. The main target of the attack was the energy sector. Ordinary residential buildings were also damaged, and there is damage to the railway.

Moscow continues to invest in strikes more than in diplomacy. This week alone, Russia launched more than 1,300 attack drones against Ukraine, over 1,400 guided aerial bombs, and 96 missiles of various types, including dozens of ballistic ones. That is why we must bolster our air defense. We need systems that effectively counter ballistic threats. Each such package protects critical infrastructure and preserves normal life.
