There is a fundamental issue in that spellcasters have a *system* – spellcasting – as part of their classes. Martials don't have an equivalent to "new powerful spells being released", the closest they have is feats and subclasses which are much higher cost and casters get too.
You dont get many feats. You only get one subclass. However, you get lots of spells. A new powerful wizard/druid spell being released is a buff to all wizards/druids because they can all pick it at relatively minimal cost. A new powerful fighter subclass is a much higher one.
Evocation Adept breaks the game. It breaks class identity and balance. How are martials to catch up with this power creep? OP feats and subclasses that will only serve to monopolise their meta and overshadow their older options?
Profit incentives denote a need for the continual creation of new player content, and spells are the most obvious form that can take.
When martials get powerful new options, they come in the form of feats or subclasses, aspects of a build with a high opportunity cost.
