@IGoBySteve@LDS_Dems I think a “marble arch” of sorts at the corner of 2100 so & 1300 east would be a worthy structure to frame a new celebratory entry to Sugahouse Park. Design competition?
@SeanDNeves@buildingslc $2m land acquisition + $2m bldg (4k sf) + $1m site dev. + 30% soft cost = $6.5m to $7m total project cost spread equally over 35k people = is $200/ea or $1k per family.. you get a bell with your name on it. Who’s in?
@SeanDNeves@buildingslc An Observation tower? A sugarhouse bespoke trike fab coop? Nature center of some sort? Demonstration kitchen & gardens? À la orangerie? A carillon is my personal vote.
@SeanDNeves@buildingslc Amended response : “Friends of the park” should buy it. That’s how a lot gets built in the NPS system. Start a fundraising effort with a purpose / vision and the people will contribute . What should we put in our park?
@DrGregLittle2@MoundLore I did architectural drawings for the collection facility (and existing admin bldg remodel). Wild that a military base was overlaid right across this landscape. I did discover a Squier & Davis book in their store … still one of my favorites
