@slvt4katya Yeah, the "i am a rich person in LA who paid over 40 bucks for a drink the other day, so you definitely can pay us 20 every month for content, it's a steal!" really rubbed me the wrong way. About the need for the paywall... I dunno, it's their right, of course , but Trixie runs a
This is the last thing I’ll say about the hate on Stranger Things 5.
Most of the backlash is just coping. People are mad because a prediction, storyline, or character ending didn’t go the way they wanted.
So now it’s nonstop nitpicking — I’ve literally seen complaints about Derek being “out of breath” inside Henry’s mind.
At some point you have to admit you’re not critiquing the show anymore, you’re critiquing your own headcanon not being canon.
People can’t just sit back and enjoy the story for what it is, and honestly, it’s embarrassing to watch.
I was born in 1961 too.
And this version of the past is a myth.
Kids did have food allergies we just didn’t have the science to name them.
I lost a brother before he was two because medicine didn’t yet understand what allergy killed him.
Trans kids didn’t “not exist.”
They hid. They were shamed. Many never survived adolescence.
Violence didn’t start with social media.
Bullying, racism, misogyny, and abuse were simply normalized and ignored.
Families didn’t stay together because things were better
they stayed together because women and children had fewer choices.
And no, it wasn’t just “Merry Christmas.”
We said Happy Holidays. Season’s Greetings. Yuletide.
Nobody lost their mind. Nobody felt threatened. We just… lived.
I rode buses and subways too
they weren’t magically safer.
We just didn’t talk about what happened on them.
What really changed wasn’t people.
It was visibility.
Data replaced denial.
Voices replaced silence.
And accountability replaced nostalgia.
The past wasn’t safer.
It was quieter because suffering had nowhere to go.
I don’t want a time machine.
I want a future where we stop confusing silence with peace.
Stop being such a boomer.
every year a taylor swift album comes out and she goes roses are red grass is green i love travis and my haters are mean and her fans go Omgggggg the lyricism
"You handled it so well'
No, I didn't. I went insane, lost my spark, bled in silence, shattered in private, and wore a smile that lied better than any mask could.
I highly recommend you find yourself a clingy (healthy) lovey dovey partner who’s super excited about you. Life is too short to spend it with someone who act like showing love is a chore.
@itsbelakboy My problem is not how it looks, shoestring budget is fine, but use what budget you do have to give the kings at least a day to prepare a decent number, instead of giving them crossguard aprons over their entrance looks and zero rehearsal time.
@denalifox A little sad. I thought you and Daya would have been in the top, your character was hillarious and really well rounded. Its gonna suck not having you next episode.
Is it just me, or was the #doctorwho special just "Covid rules were nonsense" and "putting the Christ back in Christmas"? who wrote this, my angry boomer uncle? (Loved the Anita bits and the time hotel idea though)
@angiebaby709@godlovesgoths If you think it's patronising to appreciate a very happy and earnest phase of life, you do you. To me it's better than being cynical and calling every genuine emotion cringey.
