@UpdatesChennai This government promised ‘Mission Mode Approach’ to clean rivers and hopefully other/new water bodies as well.
If this comes true will be key difference by present government with clear focus, trackable, on time and with accountability.
@UpdatesChennai@CMOTamilnadu If this government stops sewage dumping, allows only treated water into our rivers/ sea, & punishes every polluter: individuals, tankers & companies alike, it will earn my 🫡 .
Then let's build more new water bodies, forest, harvest rainwater, & create more sponge parks.
@UpdatesChennai New government brings new ideas & good intentions. A great start.
But good ideas need practical strategies, adequate resources,& public support, not blocking every PPP/private participation
Waste segregation starts @ every home
Hope fr real results: Cleaner Chennai & Cleaner TN
@UpdatesChennai@CMOTamilnadu@TVKVijayHQ@MawsTamilNadu Before people judge, the new government must prove its clean & corruption-free vision through ACTION, starting with cleaner air, water, land, & better WASTE MANAGEMENT. In next 6–12 months, & ultimately over 5 years, people will know whether they VOTED THE RIGHT PARTY TO POWER.
@UpdatesChennai Nothing damages Chennai's reputation faster than auto drivers treating fares like lottery numbers. Rightly said to use the meter or booking app fare. Government must save the people from these crimes.
@UpdatesChennai@CMOTamilnadu@TVKVijayHQ@EcrPSaravanann A leader earns respect through actions and positive impact he makes on the place and peoples lives, not dirty posters/banners. Hoping the next generation leaders brings back cleanliness and civic sense to Chennai.
@UpdatesChennai@CMOTamilnadu If anti-corruption returns, it cud be most powerful reform TN/India has seen. Ppl will stop believing money is needed to buy votes, win elections, or serve nation. Real leaders won't be remembered for dirty banners/posters, they'll be remembered for integrity & lives they change.
@NammaChennai_@grok Not claiming to be expert. My point is simple: Chennai shud first maximize rainwater harvesting, restore lakes/rivers, improve groundwater recharge, reduce water loss avoiding historic floods/drought. Desalination shud complement, not replace gud water mgmt. Won’t comment agn 🙂
@NammaChennai_@grok By natural water I mean
• Conservere & integrate water bodies
• Preserve & clean rivers/ water bodies
• Mandatory rain water harvesting
• Open parks & plant forests
• Maintain greenery
• Utilize rain water/ underground water maximum & then use desalination as last resort
@NammaChennai_ Desert countries are trying natural means:
• The Great Green Wall of Africa
• Atmospheric Water Harvesting
• Rainwater Conservation & Eco-Engineering
• Using Fossil Acquifiers well
We with so much natural resources are not harvesting rain water, we are polluting & wasting.
@NammaChennai_ Chennai isn't drying up,it's being drained
• Poor water mgmt
• Climate change
• Disappearing lakes
• Groundwater overuse
• Concrete replacing recharge
• 1st choice shud be greenery & natural water. Desalination-Last option
More floods. More droughts. Less water security
@UpdatesChennai Penalty should be charged like any other civilized place for:
1. Encroachment of public property for particular duration.
2. Demolition cost & Cleaning Cost
@UpdatesChennai The real question is: What value has this government added to the Master Plan, and what will it deliver over the next 1–5 years? The campaign is over. Now, people expect results on the ground.
@UpdatesChennai If you oppose every development/project, first prove your alternative proposal that practically works better.
If it doesn't, stop blocking progress and allow best possible solution to be implemented.
Tamil Nadu can't be held hostage by perpetual protest
@UpdatesChennai@CMOTamilnadu@TVKVijayHQ Do we want to keep living in junkyards without accountability?
If against PPP in sanitation, what's alternative to make Tamil Nadu truly clean? Judge by results, not by who delivers them.
Individuals shud start thinking about cleanliness & state first instead of personal greed
@UpdatesChennai TVK brand is built on Thalapathy Vijay’s goodwill account accumulated over many years by support of million fans. Not 2 years.
Hope continuous withdrawals from that account through negative publicity like these don’t happen. A brand built over years can be damaged within months.
@UpdatesChennai@TVKVijayHQ@CMOTamilnadu@AadhavArjuna Singapore’s, São Paulo’s, Norway’s and many leaders are respected for banning vandalism, billboards, banners, posters or any sort of defacement of public or other property. Even North-East India has more Civic Sense. Let’s Learn from them.
@UpdatesChennai@TVKVijayHQ@CMOTamilnadu@AadhavArjuna Researchers studying outdoor advertising in urban environments found that billboards, banners, and posters contribute to “visual pollution” and create unhealthy urban scenes, negatively affecting the quality of the public environment, unsafe and negative publicity to perpetrators
