I totally hear your frustration!❤️
Just to echo what Marc said, we are so sorry for our earlier actions.
Genuinely disappointed at how our removal of the ToS has been framed across the internet. We removed it way before the pricing change was announced because the views were so low, not because we didn't want people to see it.
And we have heard the concerns from the community about ToS loud and clear. This new Runtime Fee policy will only apply beginning with the next LTS version of Unity shipping in 2024 and beyond. And Marc's response is true, you can stay on the terms applicable for the version of Unity you are using as long as you keep using that version.
We do have a fireside chat ongoing with Marc where he will answer some Q's live, if you aren't happy with my answer, we welcome your attendance and questions https://t.co/FOT5LGBqic

I've either been here too long, or the account anniversary microservice is breaking down.

It is a grave category error to confuse today’s large language model output for accurate knowledge
The extent ChatGPT is ever correct is due to you already knowing the answer. It hallucinates nonsense just as easily as commonly-accepted fact, making it worthless as an educator
Another common argument is that being a grad student is like an apprenticeship.
Buddy, apprentices get paid. If we are actually faculty apprentices, we should be getting a heck of a lot more.
It's weird that UC characterizes TAs workload as half-time, and many faculty accept that argument. But grads are in class *and doing research* for the other 50% of the time.
What if faculty were not paid to do research or educate ourselves?
It’s hard to overstate just how insulting and unrealistic UC’s “final” proposed contract for TAs is.
Do they actually think there’s a chance in hell we’ll accept such a garbage contract?
What it comes down to is that I can't trust people who are this disingenuous about things that I can easily check. What else are you hiding from me? #FairUCNow
See, I'd respect the official updates a lot more if they were actually honest about the situation. Calling a 0.5% change "their most serious proposal yet" is technically true but comes with a giant [citation needed]. #FairUCNow
You are communicating with graduate students as if we were toddlers, distracted by the lollipop.
(The toddler will have to make that lollipop last: this offer barely moves the needle on childcare.)
