@no_salv And in studying them I feel that I've learned a lot about God, the afterlife, etc. It's a messy field, not as neat and tidy as something like the Catechism, but lots of interesting stuff, and clear patterns which are studied.

@no_salv The magisterium is the overall teaching authority of The Church, which would include the Catechism. We are free to believe things theologically that aren't 100% backed up by the magisterium, as long as it doesn't contradict it. NDEs are one of my major interests.
