"Money is everything". While the Guardians are dominating the AL on a bottom-two budget, the Mets are proving that a $350+ million payroll still can't buy your way out of the NL basement
We are building cities wrong.
And we've known it for decades.
The average American commutes 27 minutes each way.
That's 200 hours a year sitting in a metal box burning fossil fuels to move one person.
Urban heat islands are making cities 10°C hotter than surrounding areas.
Flooding is getting worse because we replaced permeable soil with concrete.
Housing costs are rising because zoning laws prevent density.
None of this is natural.
All of it is engineered, by choices made in the 1950s that nobody has had the political will to undo.
The solutions exist:
Mixed-use zoning. High-speed rail. Green roofs. Permeable pavements. Underground freight.
Which city is doing it right?
@MarioNawfal Those indicators dot no reflect the reality of citizens. Average salary indexed by cost of living must be considered. France potentially remains top for aprox 20% more income. Also the intagibles, like infraestructure, opportunities, housing and transportation remains superior.
@XphiloLiranzo2 ?
