Mariam lost her left arm and sustained severe abdominal and pelvic injuries, urgently needing specialised surgery.

Although she secured treatment in Ohio, the family is stranded in Egypt due to a sudden US visa ban on Palestinians, leaving them unable to access life-saving care. Around 20 critically injured children face similar obstacles, with delays and bureaucratic hurdles worsening their conditions.

Dr Mohammed Tahir, who treated Mariam in Gaza, warns that without urgent intervention, her chances of survival and recovery remain at serious risk.
