@aseb2aden But as for the Adal empire that's when Somalis had total control of Zeila. In the book titled"Masaalikal-Absaar"(this is in Somali spelling), the Egyptian author, Subhul Ahsha mentioned that zeila was completely controlled by Somalis he added the Madhab Somalis follow.

@aseb2aden I agree, I get that your original point was that Zeila had afar rulers, yes that could be the case because during the walashma dynasty and the ifat empire zeila was a cosmopolitan city you had Somalis, Afars and Arabs living under one city.
