A reminder that, if you’re struggling mentally & find phone calls tough, you can text ‘SHOUT’ to 85258 & speak to one of their volunteers via message 💚
I can't speak highly enough of my hospital- they offered to pay for a private psychiatrist appt, offered to hold onto meds for me, met with me daily when things were bad. So lucky✨ In contrast, med school threatened me with fitness to practice & pushed a leave of absence on me🤯
I thought I'd share this
Last month, driving home on a 3-lane A-road a Range Rover pulled up alongside my car but didn't overtake me & just drove parallel. Eventually I looked across thinking something was wrong.
The male driver was smiling at me & I immediately looked away
@ShivaniM_KC I did try to catch the licence plate number but difficult when trying to avoid the car as well. I'd suggest if you recognise it happening to someone else that you get the plate number and pull over to call police @WMPolice
@ShivaniM_KC Happened to me too on M6 near M54, group of young men in a large black SUV all laughing. Luckily I was able to hide behind a lorry and sneak out on an exit but it certainly wasn't safe driving! And how could I call 999 while driving? It's illegal.

Doing a rheumatology clinic in secondary care this morning - a mix of face to face & phone/video consults.
My GP wife is doing exactly the same at her surgery - mix of F2F & phone appointments.
Demand >> supply across the NHS. It’s not the fault of GPs or frontline staff.
(I've always wondered at how I'm expected provide specialised occy health advice for my patients, having neither training in occy health nor whatever condition they're recovering from)
Hallelujah! Hospital doctors and allied health professionals to be allowed to sign fit notes, ‘given GPs cannot be expected to know the impact of each condition’

"Leadership isn't a noun or a title, it's a verb" - Dr Nish Manek, founder of national @NextGGP leadership program. Listening to the conception story of the program never fails to inspire me. Warm welcome to the West Midlands 2021 virtual program. #nextggp#EmpowerEngageEnergise
Saw my Nan in hospital, asked the hca if she had been out of bed this week... nope she has a pad on! My Nan at 92 was mobile & continent prior to this admission, medically fit for discharge but hasn't been allowed out of bed and told to stay in hospital gown 😭#pjparalysis
@xoxsteviexox1 @RobynJ85 Conversation I had yesterday with a guy was similar.
"I can book you an appointment to see the GP next Monday, he's fully booked up to then"
"Oh. Is he not seeing patients then?"
"...yes. he's fully booked"
@piersmorgan I work as a nurse within the NHS. Many patients wait months to have one of these tests, getting them all done in one day is unimaginable. I understand your hectic schedule, but have some compassion for the many who are struggling .
