Back on the pitwall for the first time since 2023 with F1 and AWS. But this time as your strategist. (Yep, that’s right.)

The New Strategy Insight, powered by @awscloud , launches this weekend in Hungary for the AWS @F1 Grand Prix. It takes live timing, telemetry and historical race data and shows you why a team extends a stint, covers an undercut, or leaves a car out with Safety Car risk building.
Hungary is the perfect place to start. Strategy lives on a knife edge here. Strategists have to work it out IN the race. One stop or two. They combine historical data with what they’re seeing live. Race strategy isn’t a paper plan you make on Sunday morning, it’s the answer to a living, breathing question, monitoring millions of data points, projecting gaps, tyre degradation, wind and temperature conditions in real time. Strategists, drivers, engineers, all working in unison to get it right… first.

A two-stop needs the first pit by lap 20 of 70, which means the call gets made well before that. Wait too long on the two-stop and you lose. Go too early and it becomes a one-stop, and you lose. Teams have 12 laps to solve it.

Teams are reassessing constantly, and that’s the part viewers never get to see. With the Strategy Insight tool you won’t have to wait for a car to appear in the pit lane to work out what was decided. We’ll show you the story as it evolves.
