@Oliver_Trpcic@dorfman_p Cool your jets a bit.
Wind, solar, nuclear and gas all have parts to play. The biggies to wind/solar is the intermittency, but some of that can be likely managed with interties. They're not necessarily evil though.
Personally, I think nuclear should be considered more.
@Oliver_Trpcic@dorfman_p Nuclear uptime is too high (US DOE has capacity for the past 10 years is generally 92-93% - https://t.co/wmhl3Yeqbg). Conversely solar is around 25% of capacity and wind in the low-mid 30%s).
Nuclear is more way reliable, but your %'s seem misleading
@gccarra MNP is a great facility, but not overly walkable for beltline/downtown/sunnyside/hillhurst/inglewood/ramsay residents. Inner city Rec facilities shouldn't effectively require one to drive to get there (MNP is cut off from Erlton and Stampede LRT stations by Macleod Tail)
@emmpeethree1@Mike02709735 The hedges would be WTI CAD, which is what is indicated. Production is mostly condy. So, there is an unhedged/naked WTI CAD to Edmonton C5 basis differential. C5 hedges have little liquidity, so tend to be expensive to enter into.

@Bizzanch Haven't seen anything on fuel shortages in North America. Sri Lanka unfortunately won't be the only country that has fuel shortages. Definitely a chance of rationing natural gas in Europe this winter (and maybe for the next few years)
Expensive energy likely to last for a while
@mrbecigneul 50% + 1 isn't deemed acceptable? All kidding aside, the umps should be almost background noise in a game; there, but something no one notices.
