Due to the government's class size increases, an alarming amount of classes are being cancelled. There is no doubt this will impact students' opportunities. How is this "for the students?" #onted#classsizematters#KnowMore#CutsHurtKids https://t.co/dFv8AqoF2y
When developing an IEP, I consider the students profile, academic assessments, strengths/needs of students, expectation goals, accommodations and/or modifications, transition plan, teachers involved.

PLCs can respond to those students who require special education supports and services by defining what each student must learn by course, grade level, and unit of instruction by engaging all staff in an ongoing process to build shared knowledge of essential learnings #PLCSPED
I feel a Professional Learning Community can better respond to the needs of all students because it reaches different types of learners and gives them the tools they need to live in the world we live in by working collaboratively #SsFIRST
#PLCschools#SPEDAQ19 The Chicago Fan School We believe that all kids can learn..something, and we will help all students experience academic growth in a warm and nurturing environment. I believe this is reflective because everyone capacity is different and learns in diverse ways
#Senge#SPEDAQ19 He is telling us to bring the world issues and bigger picture issues of the world into the class so that students can see that there is a purpose for them to be an active member and show them they are important and have a responsibility to be a good citizen
In your view, what separates PLCs from other committees?
PLCs will facilitate learning for all students not only ones who choose to participate in a certain program

#learnbydoing#spedaq19 How do you encourage your colleagues to engage in ongoing professional learning?
I encourage them by asking them important questions regarding their ongoing professional learning and sparking conversations
#learnbydoing#SPEDAQ19
How do you ensure that you continue to grow and continue to learn? - I do this by taking courses, reading educational articles, talking with fellow colleagues as well as other people not in the teaching field.
#spedaq19 when teachers work in isolation, they get less quality results from students, when they work in collaboration they can do so much more with a shared effort and be more fun for everyone.
@vincegalea82#spedaq Why is assessment important in special ed?
It is a snapshot of the child's developmental learning journey. It is an ongoing process that can give important information regarding their progress and growth.
