My mom was confined last Wednesday (July 27) at the De Los Santos Medical Center. She tested positive for COVID-19 and aside from that, she suffered myocardial infarction twice.

A developing tropical disturbance east of Luzon, Tropical Depression NARRA, and the weakening Typhoon SAUDEL will continue to enhance the southwesterly wind flow throughout this week and into the weekend.

Model guidance, along with PAGASA’s Weather Advisory (Heavy Rainfall Outlook) and the agency’s Regional Services Divisions (NCR-PRSD and Northern Luzon-PRSD), is now consistent in indicating that another surge of the Southwest Monsoon (#HabagatPH) could occur later this week and continue through the weekend.

NCR-PRSD released its Impact-Based Warning Forecast yesterday, showing a SIGNIFICANT (Orange) to SEVERE (Red) Impact Level across most areas of Central Luzon and the northern half of Metro Manila beginning tomorrow, August 27. By August 28 (Friday), the whole of Metro Manila, Rizal, Cavite, and the western parts of Laguna and Batangas will be under the SIGNIFICANT (Orange) Impact Level.

The RSD also released a 5-day Regional Extended Weather Outlook, indicating that Zambales will be the first to experience occasional rains beginning today (August 26), followed by Bataan tomorrow (August 27). Metro Manila, the rest of Central Luzon, and CALABARZON (particularly Quezon) are expected to experience occasional rains beginning Friday, August 28, and continuing through the weekend.

In Metro Manila, 50–100 mm of rainfall may be recorded from Friday noon (August 28) through Saturday noon (August 29), potentially triggering another widespread flooding across the region, particularly in low-lying areas.

Meanwhile, Northern Luzon-PRSD also forecasts occasional rains across the entire Ilocos Region, as well as Abra and Benguet, beginning Friday, August 28.

Everyone is encouraged to continue monitoring the forecast for possible changes in the weather scenario.

Ang akin lang naman, sinabi na ng PAG-ASA na Monday-Wednesday will be the worst days of the Habagat this week, probably worse than last week’s. Hindi ba naisip ng gobyerno na more than two weeks na tayo inuulan which means bukod sa saturated ang lupa, the flood control systems have also been working continuously for two weeks now and further raining might overwhelm the land and the flood control systems?

Instead of preemptively suspending work and school, lahat nakapasok. At ngayon, lahat umuuwi habang patuloy na tumataas ang baha… which means these people are now also stuck in an unmoving traffic!!!

What a failure from top down. Nagsuspend for safety pero are the people now really safe traversing the flooded waters (IF they can even do so dahil di na nga gumagalaw ang traffic).
