@Planet_Deb The MPC has been mandated by law to keep inflation within a pre defined band. The notification does not mention the word ‘growth’. It’s time the MPC built some institutional credibility about its commitment to controlling inflation as mandated by law.
@CNNnews18 @sbabones @AnchorAnandN “ We all say things verbally that we don’t mean literally” is a lame excuse for a guy who calls himself an academic. But honestly how did you agree to do an interview with NewsLaundry. We all know where they stand. Or again, a case of shoddy homework by you.
@KanwalSibal Allama Iqbal died in 1938 when Pakistan existed in the imagination of a few zealots. Pakistan might have chosen him as their national poet but the Indian armed forces march to its tune till date. If Allama Iqbal is Pakistan’s property then so is the Indus Valley civilisation
@anneapplebaum Why do those who want us to focus on the alternate world not focus on the real world. In the real world the US abandoned Afghanistan and now girls have been deprived of their right to educate themselves.
@drpooniaAiims While presented in a jocular way, it points out on of the biggest problems in the profession. The profession has to ask itself, why are wannabe doctors continually humiliated by those above them. It starts the day when a young student enters a medical college and never ends
@piersmorgan Afghanistan was first abandoned the 1988 when the Soviets left the country and the West left a once liberal country in the hands of warring fundamentalists. It was the most egregious case of use and throw of a country and its people.
@sanjeevsanyal Mr Sanyal could you please inform us all about the total government securities bought by RBI as part of its OMO operations and how money it printed to fund the same?
@nsitharamanoffc@nsitharaman The government has budgeted a borrowing of Rs 14.21 lakh Crs. A significant portion of this would be bought by the RBI through OMOs, which in turn would print money to fund it. It is a correct strategy, just that the FM still has not got a hang of how the economy is managed.
@NasimiShabnam I often think, What if I was born in China? I then rile and complain to God. Then I realise, What if I was born in Afghanistan? I then thank God for what I got. One really feels sorry for the people of Afghanistan.
@BalakrishnanR Years back there was a report by Edelweiss about how the sell side analysis Is based on fantasies. It is not limited to India. The famous BRICS report one such report by a Wall Street major
@Chellaney The US just wanted to cut and run. They knew very well what a Taliban regime would entail. Till recently the US’s close ally in the Middle East, Saudi Arabia did not allow women to go out alone without a male guardian or even drive cars and they didn’t mind it.
