👏📄 Warmest congratulations to @pk_shishodia and his co-authors, who include UCD Professor Francesco Pilla, on winning the 2023 Haagen-Smit Prize.
🏆 The @ELSenviron award recognises outstanding papers published in Atmospheric Environment in the period 2015-2022 with substantial impact.
This University of Surrey work was delivered as a part of the iSCAPE (Improving Smart Control of Air Pollution in Europe) project, a UCD-led consortium funded by the European Community's H2020 Programme.
🌬️ iSCAPE, coordinated by Professor Francesco Pilla, was a European research project that worked on advancing the control of air quality and carbon emissions in European cities.
It tackled the problem by studying policy interventions, behaviour changes in citizens’ lifestyles, and Passive Control Systems such as trees, hedges and coatings, that can affect air pollution without using any power.
Happy International Women's Day!!
On this global day, I would like to give kudos to all the women who took part in my Bike Library pilots in 2023.
The participants were predominantly 𝐰𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧, 𝐚𝐥𝐦𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐝𝐨𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐞 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐬!

🗣️ “The bike library is all about climate action and gives the opportunity to families to have an active role in reducing traffic emissions and in accelerating the transition towards climate neutrality in Ireland.”
The aim of the project is to help families make a permanent shift to sustainable, active travel for their daily commutes by allowing them to see the benefits without purchasing their own bikes immediately.
