📷 New team photo just dropped! It's taken a few months to onboard everyone and now they're here and raring to go. From L-to-R, we have Giusy, @DebakshiM, @jstreetley, Kako and Gonzalo. https://t.co/LfIZliNGc2 There's never been a better time to come and do cryo-EM in Glasgow!
𝐓𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐜𝐨𝐭𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝: @dundeeuni has established a world class Centre for Protein Degradation, one of the hottest emerging modalities in biotech. It's founder, @alessiociulli, discusses the space.

1/n) Best way to start 2025! Thrilled to share our Nature paper about the structures of axonemal components from sperm flagella and from epithelial cilia of the oviduct and brain ventricles. Great collaboration with
@TzviyaZBM and @alanbrownhms

Happy to share our newest publication:
Differences in structure, dynamics and Zn-coordination between isoforms of human ubiquitin ligase UBE3A
Now at @jbiolchem Journal of Biological Chemistry

I successfully defended my doctoral work last week! I am as happy as this gleeing gingerbread man.
Truly grateful for the people I met during my PhD; it was not possible to do this highly multidisciplinary project well without their technical advice and scientific discussion.
1/ A new series of #CryoSPARC tutorial videos from this year’s S2C2 #cryoEM image processing workshop are now online! These videos will be interesting to all users and especially those newer to #cryoEM.

How good was it to see all of these smiling faces in the @UofGARC on Monday to hear about cryo-EM in Scotland! Thanks to everyone who came, spoke, brought a poster, sponsored and contributed to the 2nd Scottish Cryo-EM Symposium. (Group photo by @Mark_A_Nakasone)
Huge thanks to my examiners @LabThoma and @YKulathu for such an enjoyable PhD viva! 🎓
Had a wonderful time celebrating with the @UoDCeTPD team 🥳
Shout out @AlessioCiulli Ron Hay & Hannah Maple, and the CeTPD @UoDLifeSciences for their incredible support for the past 4 years!
Mechanistic and structural insights into degrader-targeted protein ubiquitinability, now out in @ScienceAdvances!
https://t.co/gNOqyd3YPB
Let's make more degraders that hit the bull's eye 🎯 @alessiociulli@UoDCeTPD
Excited to share a new preprint https://t.co/gyn4Fh1Aa7: we find a molecular glue degrader working via a CRBN lookalike, YPEL5 (a subunit of the non-cullin CTLH/GID E3 ligase). More surprises - the glue is charged and metabolically activated to engage a basic groove on the ligase
Finally, thanks to @Mark_A_Nakasone and @CharlCrowe for getting this symposium series started last year (and iSCEM-DD before that), and we look forward to seeing you all in Glasgow this year.

Working on #cryoEM for membrane proteins?
This new #CryoSPARC case study covers end to end advanced processing of a 73 kDa inactive state GPCR, including challenges and pitfalls, detailed figures and final maps. Read in full here: https://t.co/5Xtl0zYID2
More congratulations are in order for our Short Talk winners, @CharlCrowe & @Alexis_Betr! Competition was tough with fantastic research shared throughout, well done both 👏🏼🥳
A huge thank you to to our judging panel for their efforts🙏🏻 #Ubiq24
Thank you @Dr_JoelCB for the opportunity to present 'degrader-targeted protein ubiquitinability' at the @biotechne TPD symposium
Talk delivered from the hotel room, but enjoyed sunny Portugal☀️ on the balcony while listening to the other great speakers' talks!
