First, a bit of history. When shadcn/ui launched in 2023, it was built on Radix. At the time, nothing else came close. Headless. Accessible. Composable.

Fast forward a few years and the team who built Radix are building something new: Base UI.

alright, it's been a while. ive been thinking about life and stuff, and came to a simple conclusion: sharing matters. share what you think. share what you don't like. share what you build, no matter how big or small it is. Just share it. let your brain try to explain it. you'll figure things out and understand them better by doing so. maybe youll get some validation, maybe you won't. but feedback will always make you better.

What if you’re building mac apps or other non-web software that requires a lot of visual testing?

Human judgement in engineering is ironically even more crucial now. Deciding what to build. Deciding on the right architectures. Deciding whether you regenerate from scratch $$$ or reuse existing legos. Managing tech debt. You can do anything now, but you can't do everything.
