“FC Barcelona announces that it has today filed the required request for conciliation prior to filing a criminal complaint for the offense of slander under Article 205 of the Penal Code against the President of Real Madrid, Mr. Florentino Pérez, in response to statements he made at a press conference on May 12 and in an interview with a media outlet the following day.

The purpose of this request is for Mr. Pérez to retract certain statements he made knowing they were false and which are defamatory and damaging to the Club’s image and reputation.

Should this request not be duly addressed, FC Barcelona will proceed to file the corresponding criminal complaint.”

“Barcelona reports that the mandatory request for conciliation has been filed prior to the filing of a complaint for a crime of slander of article 205 of Criminal Code against the President of Real Madrid, Mr. Florentino Pérez, following the statements made by him at the press conference of May 12 and in an interview with a media the following day”.
