The Constitution of the Republic of Uganda has ONLY 4 NON-DEROGABLE rights.
Freedom from torture
Freedom from slavery
Right to a FAIR HEARING
Right to habeas corpus
Everyone who says they should be done away with, SHALL need them one day. It's the way of ALL human existence.
I just don't understand it.
Like steal some of the money yes but build the infrastructure.
I mean even just for selfish reasons don't you want reliable utilities, Healthcare, an educated population!?
No country is without corruption but the most foolish let their home rot.
Some Ugandans don’t know that if you’re travelling with money (cash) above a certain amount you simply have to declare it at the airport for clearance. If found with it, Airport staff only have to ask you to declare it, not to take it. On the night of 12th July some staff at Entebbe Airport took a friend’s dollars. Report yourself and refund it before we expose you.
go and transform the lives of the poor who seek prosperity, the hopeless who seek hope, those in jail who seek freedom, those facin' injustice who seek justice, etc
don't fuck around with people's lives when it comes to healthcare
the world doesn't spend billions on research, clinical trials, implementation and sensitization for some random chap in kampala to claim he has miraculously healed someone livin' with hiv/aids
scientists didn't spend 2 years and 9 months in uganda alone conductin' clinical trials to develop and test lenacapavir for us to take in such bullshit
if scientists knew your chap could actually do what you're claimin', they'd have approached him, begged him, worshipped him, bribed him, whatever it took, to save millions of people livin' with hiv/aids
so, don't ever fuck around with people's lives like that..
tubeere nga mu ku magezi and empathy when panderin' to such nonsense
Dr Ssenyondo has been the HOD obs and gyn Masaka RRH for as long as i remember and one of the leading pillars of fight against maternal mortality in region. For a minister to start harrasing him publically on things she wont even understand is such a low level. @TheUMAofficial this can not keep happening.
In his reflection about what Christianity should say to oppressed black South Africans during Apartheid, Steve Biko said that the Bible should also preach to the black man that “it is a sin to allow oneself to be oppressed”. One of the people that have vehemently resisted committing this sin is Dr Kizza Besigye. You do not oppress him with his permission, and he won’t cooperate in fostering his own oppression - even if it means dying in protesting abuse.
"All these years I have spent in the service of mankind brought me nothing but insults and humiliation. It is awful when an honest man is confronted by evil people, and yet he is not built from the same evil material to fight them their way." - Nikola Tesla
Dear @KCCAUG and whoever else is in charge of the “Sound Pollution” POLICY,
Kindly let’s respect each other..
Don’t just bust into a place and forcefully unplug our machines… If you are determined to take my machines, At least let me unplug & pack them the right way..
We work our backs out to acquire them (They are not as cheap as they look)… they are literally our Capital.
Last week on Sunday, a certain team of rude guys came where I was playing, forcefully took my DJ Controller, I got it back today & I have to either repair it to use it again or forfeit it and look for another 7M to buy a new one… I humbly tried begging/explaining to them that I am just an external service provider.. The guy even wanted to slap me..
Now I am 7M down… Sometimes we forget that we are all just here to serve.. You can feel superior today, but one thing I know about life(not Karma), It will humble you 👌🏿
LET’S RESPECT ONE ANOTHER 🙏
Habibi, Nabanjja says no car, or motorcycle will be allowed to move between 7 and 10 am tomorrow and that not a single business will be allowed to operate at that time.
For all the bragging, the Ugandan regime can't enforce such an order. It lacks the means, & power. At best, it can stop a few cars, & bikes from moving, close a couple of shops here & there, but the majority won't close.
In fact, I bet that by December the new initiative will have gone the way of the Dodo bird. However, if they start with high-handed enforcement - forcibly stop cars, bikes, and close businesses, the initiative won't go beyond three months. Of course the initiative, the idea of it, is good without a doubt. But good ideas are best sold to people, not forced upon them.
At the heart of those who lead the regime is this feeling that force will always get them whatever they want. Of course it does work in some isolated cases on a small scale, it can't work on grand scale like many of them think. At the end of the day, Uganda isn't a totalitarian state like North Korea, or Turkmenistan, it a poor dictatorship that can't fix potholes, drainage, or street lights. Whatever it does is down to the willingness of the people to comply, not the force or threat of it from the regime.
However, if the regime really wants to make an impact with cleanliness, then a decision to ban Kaveera would go even further and make an even bigger difference.
Some good-hearted Ugandans found Good Samaritans who donated 1,460,000,000/= worth of specialised hospital equipment for Ugandan children.
The guys at @URAuganda called a meeting, discussed, & decided the best thing was to confiscate & sell the equipment for 4,000,000/=!
Sometimes it’s hard to argue against the death penalty, man!
I don’t want to "download the app" to pay for parking. I don’t want to "create an account" to see a menu. I don’t want to "provide feedback" on a 30-second interaction. I just want to exist in the physical world without a digital leash.
But has anyone actually ever filed a noise complaint about a church and succeeded in making a change ?? Because this reign of terror can’t be our new reality.
Ssemujju Kassim was attacked by robbers on July 7th. He survived brain surgery at Mulago Hospital but can't speak or walk.
Now at Mengo Hospital he needs physiotherapy yet bills have drained everything. Any donation helps him heal and return to his loved ones.
people who are eating our tax money should have the wisdom and humility to eat it in silence... not rubbing it in our faces and accusing us of being less patriotic than them
The way our people are surviving: Someone goes to a pork joint, buys raw kigodo of UGX 1,000 to make some soup & share with family over posho for supper.
Something has to change. No Ugandan deserves to live such a sub-human life. We must agree on a minimum standard of dignity.
Truth is, for us to truly thrive, we need good governance. Everything else's just posturing on eggshells.
Stop gaslighting pple into patriotism banditry amid abductions, press muzzling, etc.
You don't defend a country by demanding silence. You defend it by demanding better 🇬
