"Some want a wedding, the day, the dress, the celebration, more than they want the marriage."
First Lady Mrs Jeannette Kagame at the Young Leaders Prayer Breakfast.#RBANews#PrayerBreakfast#YoungLeadersPray
I remember when i was still Catholic, we would walk 14 km to the parish to confess our sins to a priest. By then i was around 9-12 years.I cherish that discipline. Listening to this clip, the first question that came to my mind was; How did we get here? Where did we go wrong?
Between 1994 and around 2020, the story seemed different. There was a generation of public servants who worked with a strong sense of duty, sacrifice and responsibility. Many served selflessly, often without expecting the government to solve every problem for them. Families built survival from zero, they raised orphans, and contributed beyond their means. Today, we are enjoying the results of that effort full-time electricity, water, internet, and tarmacked roads.
So what changed?
Why have we reached a point where we always expect the government to intervene? What happened to our communities? What happened to our homes and families?
As we rightly focus on planning for and investing in young people, we also need to swallow a bitter truth: the responsibility of raising children cannot be outsourced to government, schools, or institutions. Our homes and families have a fundamental role in shaping character, discipline, integrity, and a sense of responsibility.
What we are seeing in society is, to a large extent, a reflection of what is happening in our homes.
We can continue designing policies, programmes, and interventions for young people, but unless we go back to the basics parenting, values, discipline, community responsibility, and personal accountability moral decay will continue.
I am not trying to be a prophet of doom. I am simply looking at the signs around us and trying to forecast where we could be heading if we don’t address the fundamentals. Otherwise we need to be appreciative to government because it’s carrying out it’s moral responsibility.
Today, Ms. Wanda Karia, the new Country Director of World Food Programme in Uganda, paid a courtesy visit to the Rwanda High Commission to Uganda. She was received by H.E @jrutabana.
Ok..so when #DRC minerals are refined and sold in Brussels, tel aviv,London or new York, it is international trade but shd the same happen in the region including #rwanda, it is exploitation. Make this make sense!

In Toronto, the Rwandan community and friends of Rwanda gathered in solemn remembrance of the victims of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.
Through testimony, reflection, and unity, we honoured the lives lost and reaffirmed our shared responsibility to preserve the truth and confront genocide ideology in all its forms.

At Toronto City Hall, @MayorOliviaChow met with the Rwandan community and personally presented the official proclamation marking April 7, 2026 as the International Day of Reflection on the Genocide Against the Tutsi in Rwanda. 🇷🇼🇨🇦
“NOW THEREFORE I, Mayor Olivia Chow, on behalf of Toronto City Council, do hereby proclaim April 7, 2026, as ‘International Day of Reflection on the Genocide Against Tutsi in Rwanda.’”
The moment brought together community leaders, including Alphonse Barikage (Chair, @RCA_Toronto ), Leo Kabalisa (@IbukaCanada ), and members of the Rwandan community in Toronto.
A powerful act of recognition that honours the victims and stands with survivors of the Genocide against the Tutsi in 1994, reaffirming our shared responsibility to remember and ensure it never happens again.

And to those who are struggling to properly name the Genocide against the Tutsi, it is better not to send us any message today. We will be okay, as we always have been! #Kwibuka27

This Would be Your Testimony 🔥
The things that were Impossible,
The things that Money can not buy,
Are the things he has done for me,
What my Mother can not do,
What my Father can not do,
He has done it again and again.

Please meet Mr Christian Songa Ngabo, @chrisongabo 26yr gen-z, born and bred in Kimironko. Humble beginnings, inspiring story, big dreams.
He is the founder of @IsokkoApp, a start-up, innovative on-demand delivery platform connecting people to groceries, food, and essentials from local stores in Kigali, while creating flexible jobs through Isokko agents. Payments are supported via MoMo, Apple Pay, and Cash on Delivery. Its him and 2 partners. The app started Dec 2024. It has registered gross transactions of around 150 million frw. He is looking for investors. He spent time with my colleagues today exploring how we can help.
Download on the App Store and Google Play. 🇷🇼 🇷🇼 s in the 🇬🇧 🇬🇧, you have another digital shopping assistant, right here.
@IsokkoApp employs 18 full time and 500 pay per task agents- ordinary people who scout for, upload new and on demand goods and locations. If it gets investors and expands per plan, Ngabo is sure of >100 full time jobs and, >5000 agents. @IsokkoApp intends to expand beyond Kigali, asap. Whether investors will get good returns, "Most certainly", Ngabo says, "it is good, sure business".
Ngabo studied at IFAK Kimihurura (IFAK muli hehee💪), applied aggressively for university and North Carolina's Guilford Uni admitted him for Computer Science, with a total of 80% scholarships due to good grades. He completed in May, 2022, interviewed with Wall Street's Morgan Stanley for a job that August and was hired the same day, after they liked an app he had built earlier in his 2nd year.
Due to immigration process hiccups he wasnt able to continue to work in US; but he was deployed to Morgan Stanley's Budapest Branch. This hiccup also made him miss an admission to Harvard for his masters. Will he pursue it, when he sorts out things? "That will depend on our digital entrepreneurship journey". "Our Bill Gates, Elon Musk"? I ask. "No, we will be ourselves. Our country invests so much in the youth and in IT. Together with many others in the IT Sector we will claim our own place"
On what will give @IsokkoApp satisfaction, Ngabo replies; "financial security, 10,000 jobs in Rwanda before am 35".
I’ll never stop giving God the credit.
Because there were moments I didn’t know how I was gonna make it out.
Places so dark I couldn’t see my own way forward.
And when I didn’t have the strength, God did.
He reached down, picked me up, and reminded me
You’re not done yet.
