25 Himalayan Griffon Vultures Die After Eating Poisoned Dog Carcasses in Uttar Pradesh

1. Dogs attacked goats belonging to villagers in Semaria village, near Dudhwa Tiger Reserve, Uttar Pradesh.

2. In retaliation, the villagers poisoned the dogs by mixing pesticide into rice and leaving it for them.

3. The dogs died from the poisoning, leaving their carcasses in the area.

5. Twenty-five Himalayan Griffon Vultures scavenged and fed on the poisoned dog carcasses.

6. The vultures died after consuming the toxic meat.

7. Forest officials later discovered the 25 dead Himalayan Griffon Vultures at the site.
