The parts were being sent from Australia to the U.S. for repairs when they were diverted to Hong Kong.

Among the components was reportedly an F-35 canopy containing technology tied to the aircraft’s STEALTH capabilities.

Now congressional staff are being briefed, the Pentagon says it is investigating, and officials are working to recover the missing components.

The biggest question remains: How did sensitive military equipment end up in Hong Kong in the first place?
