The IAF enabled life-saving multi-organ retrieval and critical transplants at different locations, undertaken through Command Hospital Air Force Bangalore (CHAFB) today.

In this swiftly coordinated effort, the donor patient who was declared brain dead yesterday, became the source of new life for five individuals.

One kidney and a cornea were airlifted by an IAF aircraft to Army Hospital (R&R) Delhi. The other kidney and cornea transplantation, and the first skin harvesting, was achieved at CHAFB along with a team from Victoria Hospital Bengaluru. The liver was also transplanted successfully at Gleneagles BGS Hospital.

This seamless operation was executed with Jeevansarthakathe Karnataka, reflecting the exceptional commitment and medical expertise of the Armed Forces medical community.

I wish him the very best of luck towards the next phase of his journey, as he becomes the youngest chairman of the @ICC.

India has sent several luminaries to lead the ICC as administrators: Mr. Jagmohan Dalmiya, Mr. Sharad Pawar, Mr. N. Srinivasan, and Mr. Shashank Manohar. I am sure he will build on their legacy and take the game of cricket forward.

The Mahalaxmi racecourse will be taken over by the @mybmc this week. It is disgraceful to see the bjp- mindhe regime try to take over open spaces for their favourite builder and contractors, like the racecourse and wellington club.

While we will restore its natural state when we form government soon, and legally punish those who colluded to give away the racecourse for their personal gains, we demand:

• No theme park
• No construction above or below ground
• No damage to heritage structures

And for wellington club:
• No addition to members or change in structure as bullied into by the illegal contractor mantri (CM)

The Patna High Court has just struck down an Act passed by the Bihar Assembly last year that had provided for 65% reservation for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, and Extremely Backward Classes in State Government jobs and educational institutions. The High Court held that this breached the 50% ceiling set by the Supreme Court.

Will the Bihar Govt now go in for immediate appeal to the Supreme Court? Will the NDA Govt at the Centre put its full and serious weight behind the appeal? Will Parliament get an opportunity to discuss the issue at the earliest?
