last year i decided not to buy anything without trying to thrift it first

mostly bc i needed to save money, but also because i wanted to stop being so influenced by marketing strategies and buy now culture

on cyber monday i was so tempted to buy a $200 button down shirt but went to goodwill with my sister instead

we found 2 perfect button downs for $9 that i washed, pressed, and now look brand new

after doing this for a while i've realized you can find almost anything when you have a very specific idea in your head and look for it secondhand instead of getting sucked into marketing

unless you're buying a designer bag, clothes are like cars! the minute you tag the tags off they lose so much value and the whole shiny object effect

the same thing works online too. i often go to stores like zara or cos, try on clothes, write down the ones i like, and then search for them on poshmark and depop for 50%+ off

idk who needed to hear this or if it's helpful, but i was so happy about these shirts thought i would share xx
