Nabakishore Mohapatra has passed away at the age of 73.

After losing his wife, journalist Chhabirani Mohapatra, to one of Odisha’s most brutal crimes, he spent decades fighting a lonely battle against the Congress establishment and the powerful political ecosystem of the Patnaik era.

He had little power, no dynasty, and no influence only an unyielding belief that truth and justice must prevail.

History may remember many rulers, but Odisha will remember the man who refused to surrender.
