End of the day, she was like “so what did you all learn from today?” and mine was that I’m probably not going to pursue it after all.
just … maybe it’s not us, the crew, the Americans, or poor leadership failing the Oz film industry? possibly it’s the shitty expectations and fked hours? Idk, food for thought. Maybe all of the above. The whole day was NOT a good sell for working in film/tv.
okay virgin lounge sort of sucks? There’s a guy next to me FaceTiming without headphones and it’s not for his toddler, so it’s not allowed? I didn’t make these hard societal rules.

life update; one of my casual staff has informed me that they’re an Xmas casual at Aesop. gonna get so much handwash. their staff discount definitely ranks higher than my only work freebie (gifted alcohol and free theatre tickets)
@tom_tanuki Yeah I almost signed up as a collie but they were like “free badge very SPECIAL” and I was like wtf is the badge and went down the same rabbit hole. Are all SXSW like this? It’s so fucking weird. Is it some sort of corporate paid-for type networking thing or for the gen public?
@vickyhaddock Eric isn’t a tailor, for one. He runs the workroom. He also didn’t do the hand-beading, his workshop did. His chief embroiderer is usually Mariana Ferrer. Let’s stop attributing women’s work to men…
