Hal tersebut adalah karena NewJeans tidak dianggap sebagai karyawan/buruh pada undang-undang Labor Standards Act.

Kontrak mereka bukan kontrak atasan-bawahan yang mendapat gaji tapi kontrak dimana 2 pihak mengerjakan kewajiban masing-masing, uang yang didapatkan juga menggunakan sistem profit-sharing.
