To motivate myself to stick to a consistent exercise schedule, I've been only listening to audiobooks at the gym. A great incentive when you're really enjoying a series! I'm currently listening to Murderbot !
@peterkyle I do not object to its STATED aim, but it is catastrophically flawed in both design and execution. It is poorly implemented, technologically naive, and counterproductive. Worse, it sets a precedent that undermines democratic access to information, privacy, and digital freedoms.
My Dark Vanessa; finished this quickly, as is typical for me with 1st person present tense. It was quite an uncomfortable read. Strane's characterisation and the way Vanessa perceives him at differing ages was well done.
I finished Homegoing, which was one of those books that stays with you for a long time after you'd finished. Thoroughly recommend. I wish we'd had a little bit more time with each of the characters rather than the vignettes, because they were such interesting people!
I finished Evie Wyld's The Bass Rock! I love gothic horror, I love Scottish fiction, and I love lit that examines the experience of womanhood, so I devoured it. There were a lot of really raw, frightening descriptions that leant into the horror angle in the best way
