🇨🇳BONE GLUE. That's what Chinese scientists have invented, and it fixes broken bones in 3 minutes.
No metal plates. No screws. No big surgery. Just inject it, and the broken pieces bond together in minutes, even in a bloody surgical site.
In one trial, a shattered wrist was fully repaired through a tiny 3cm cut. Three months later, full recovery, zero complications.
Over 150 patients have already been treated. Clinical trials are ongoing.

Nine Bangladeshi nationals were intercepted at O.R. Tambo International Airport on Thursday after attempting to enter South Africa using fraudulent South African visas and fake Indian passports.
According to the Border Management Authority, immigration officials detected irregularities during processing and discovered the visas were allegedly issued fraudulently through the South African High Commission in New Delhi.
Three women travelled on Bangladeshi passports, while six men initially presented fake Indian passports before later producing Bangladeshi passports.
All nine were denied entry and arrangements were made for their deportation back to Bangladesh.
BMA Commissioner Michael Masiapato praised officials for the interception, saying it highlights both the growing sophistication of international document fraud syndicates and the importance of strong border security. Investigations are continuing into the origin of the fraudulent documents and possible links to transnational criminal networks.

South Africa remains among the most unequal countries on the planet 💔💔
some depressing stats:
- the richest 10% own 86% of all wealth
- the top 1% own 55% of total wealth
- the bottom 50% have negative wealth (liabilities exceed assets)

Four Home Affairs officials on a R25k salary per month, ran a visa scheme that made a combined asset portfolio of R16m in just one little HA office in Mpumalanga.
They sold 'study visas' to Nigerians, Zimbabweans, Somalians who run shops & salons.

The Kailasa Temple at Ellora defies the very definition of construction. It was not built; it was uncovered.
🔱🕉️
In the 8th century, Rashtrakuta artisans didn't stack stone upon stone. Instead, they took a solid basalt cliffside and performed the most audacious act of sculpture in human history: they carved from the top down, slicing away thousands of tons of rock to reveal a finished masterpiece hiding within the mountain.
A Masterclass in Subtractive Engineering:
This is not merely a temple—it is a monolith. Every towering vimana, every intricate pillared hall, every fluid elephant sculpture, and every delicate narrative relief was once part of the living rock.
🔺The Impossible Process: By carving downward, the architects had only one chance. There was no room for error; once a piece of rock was removed, it could never be replaced.
🔺A Fully Realized World: Beneath the open sky, you walk through gateway complexes, cross carved bridges, and wander through colonnades that were never assembled, but rather liberated from the earth.
🔺Artistry and Precision: The line between architecture and sculpture vanishes here. The structure, the surface, and the ornament are inseparable, carved with a level of precision that remains a staggering engineering feat over a millennium later.
At Kailasa, the mountain didn't just host a temple—the mountain became the temple. It stands today as an eternal reminder of what humanity can achieve when vision transcends the limits of traditional building.

There is something that happens at OR Tambo immigration after you come back from an international trip. I see the sign SA passports holders. But it is when you approach the home affairs immigration, they look at your passport after you have greeted in English and the official says: “usaphila MaNdlovu?” This switch from English to your language. Then they continue to ask: “uhambe kahle?” you reply. While still checking your passport, they say: “sithembe ubuziphethe kahle nawe!” They stamp your passport and they say: “welcome home!” Your smile, your heart ke sana as you go to fetch your bags. Ikhona maan into eyenzekayo kuwe! Uncuma de uyophuma! Yes, we have problems but OR Tambo immigration officials you make it better! Even for those 3 minutes.
@JamesLucasIT The museum was built around the statue at the spot it was found. It was too big & too heavy, so the antiquities department did not want risk damaging or breaking it!
@FNBSA I waited 20 min at your Killarney Mall Branch and walked out as the wait felt like being at Home Affairs. Waiting 20 min on 'secure chat' on the App and no response! This is unacceptable!
The new India 🇮🇳 - rooted in the epic stories of India, not in western thought.
Prime minister Modi this week surpassed the Nehru record as Indias longest continuously serving elected prime minister.
Modis time as prime minister has marked rapid economic growth, reduced poverty, green leadership, drastically improved infrastructure, catapulting India to the center of global affairs.
But Modis biggest legacy is changing the narrative of india. He has anchored Indias perception of itself in a worldview rooted in Indian heritage, not western secularism.
He has done this through his life story coming from a modest background in small town India, by always wearing Indian dress, by insisting on speaking hindi at the global scene, by promoting yoga and Indian culture, by visiting temples.
Hindu nationalism has become the ideology of india. This is not likely to go away even with future changes in government.
In this article for Verdinytt I am explaining hindu nationalism to a western audience. Here is why the rest of the world should be curious, not scared:

अंग्रेजी में ' *THE QUICK* *BROWN FOX JUMPS* *OVER A LAZY DOG* ' एक प्रसिद्ध वाक्य है।

South African retail is facing a massive identity crisis.
The economic bloodbath is spreading fast
● TFG is shutting down 100+ underperforming stores.
● Pick n Pay just axed 56 stores nationwide in a massive reset.
● Massmart is reviewing 20+ Game outlets for closure/conversion.
● Westpack & Petzone entering business rescue with store cuts.
Our local malls are feeling emptier by the day, struggling to hold onto foot traffic.
The culprit? The unstoppable rise of ultra-cheap Chinese e-commerce giants like Temu and Shein aggressively eating everyone's lunch.
In a tough economy, R100 outfits and direct-to-consumer shipping are winning, but at what cost to local jobs and manufacturing?
“To beard the lion in his den.”
The dictionary defines it as boldly confronting a powerful rival on their own turf.
For years, Norway Chess has been Magnus Carlsen’s den. His turf. His domain.
So I woke up to this news and my jaw dropped.
You didn’t just win a title, @rpraggnachess.
You walked into the lion’s den and emerged victorious
This title is important. Not because of the trophy, but because of your challenger spirit.
And that’s something all of us can learn from…

Dear Zimbabwe, it’s time for a brutal conversation about xenophobia in South Africa
By Maynard Manyowa 10 Apr 2022
Maynard Manyowa is a Zimbabwean journalist and documentary filmmaker based in Manchester, England. He is married to Boipelo Manyowa, a South African journalist who has recently written against xenophobia.
Maybe it is time that we, as Zimbabweans, remind ourselves that South Africa is treating us better than we ever treat(ed) immigrants.
Nobody wants to, nor can they, freely state that Zimbabwean immigrants in South Africa do not help their own cause. Saying this would likely be interpreted as support for violence and whip up a wave of cancellations.
When Zimbabwe first achieved independence in 1980, it really was heaven on Earth. Its currency was strong and the country was self-sufficient. Malawians, Zambians and South Africans flocked to Zimbabwe to work as roadside vendors and in mines, to take advantage of the education system, as well as flee from the racist apartheid government.
But Zimbabwe and its government at the time were hostile. Malawians and Zambians were called MaBwidi, a derogatory term that describes foreigners as halfwits. The government conducted raid after raid in townships, often asking people to repeat local street lingo – fully aware that Malawian folk would do so with a hilarious accent.
Those who failed were bundled into trucks and deported. Those who remained were made half citizens by the government.
At that time, naturalised Zimbabweans from Malawi and Zambia were not allowed to vote, and their identity documents were engraved with a huge capital “A”, designating them as “Aliens”. This practice remained up until Robert Mugabe was removed from power.
But, at the same time, Mozambique was engaged in a brutal civil war and a number of Mozambicans, many of whom speak Zimbabwe’s main language, Shona, crossed into the country seeking refuge. The government rounded them up and put them in refugee camps, while several others were sent back, by force, to Mozambique, where they were executed by rebel forces.
To this day, in and around the township, derogatory jokes about Malawians, Zambians and Mozambicans are exchanged at barbecues.
How we, as Zimbabweans, treated other Africans at the time was wrong, and it must not escape history or dialogue.
South Africa treats refugees better than any other African country
Over the years, as conflict has ravaged Africa, many people have fled their homes in Congo, Somalia, Ethiopia, the Central African Republic, Burundi and other countries. Those who found their way to Zimbabwe were put in refugee camps, where they remain to this day. Countries like Malawi, Uganda and Zambia also have refugee camps for asylum seekers.
Now, I mention this because, when millions of Zimbabweans rightly fled the violence in 2008, the South African government responded by giving them special permits and allowed those who didn’t apply to integrate with communities.
In Malawi, as we speak, the government is calling on all refugees who left camps and integrated with communities to return to the camps or face action. Zimbabwe keeps refugees in camps, while Kenya wants to close its camps and send refugees back to conflict zones.
South Africa is not driving foreigners into camps, but nobody wants to talk about this. And ignoring such gestures of goodwill upsets and offends a country that has been very hospitable to refugees, economic or otherwise.
One would struggle to find a country today that allows millions of people to simply show up and integrate into communities. To that end, South Africa is a haven for refugees from all walks of life.
At the same time, we cannot escape the reality that illegal immigrants commit crime in South Africa. People avoid talking about it, but the stats are there. In 2017, there were 11,842 foreigners in South African prisons, 918 for murder and 454 for rape.
Comparisons are futile but for me one of India's greatest engineering achievements remains the 217 feet tall shadowless Brihadisvara Temple built by Raja Raja Chola I in 1010.
Crafted with giant interlocked stones and crowned by an 81 ton kumbam, it was built within six years.
