My absolutely favourite thing is young people whose dream it is to buy what was once an ordinary working class terrace but is now £1.3 mil probably. I say this as that person.
Countries with high tax rates (particularly in Scandinavia) have a great welfare system to fall back on when hardship hits, which is why their citizens accept it. Only in the UK do people accept tax increases for literally nothing in return
